Question:
In an earlier post about weight restrictions on roads you mentioned you used to haul liquid feed. Did you drive for QLF out of Dodgeville? If so did you have to make many deliveries right to the farm as was mentioned, or were most to the feed supply stores? Is that the company you were driving for before you went to Roehl?

Answer:
Yup I drove for them and I also was driving for WisTrans, when QLF bought their tractors and tanks from them. I was one of the first drivers hired. I made deliveries to a hell of a lot of farms. When I was there they had over 1600 in the system. I don't know what they have now.
I had an accident in Feb 2001 in DesMoines IA, and I was laid up for several months with back injuries. When I came back, they put me in the oldest rig they had, telling me that I would get a new one soon. They hired 5 new drivers and put them in the next 5 new rigs. I gave them notice and went to Roehl.
One thing with driving the feed tanker, when the cops saw "Liquid Feed" on the back/sides they figured I was just making a delivery, and did'nt bother me.
I enjoyed tanker work, and I would'nt ,mind finding some local tank work. Where in WI are you located? Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!

I'm living in Bagley, ( the real Gods country) Does QLF only hire experienced drivers or do they train new ones? I know a guy driving for them right now, but I rarely see him. I know he's home every weekend and according to a freind of mine who does talk to him he seems to like them real well.

Not sure anymore. I left there with a real bad taste in my mouth. They were taking inexperienced drivers when they first started, and I trained several of them. I think you have to have at least a year of "driving" experience, and they'll train you how to load/unload. You can load 24/7 at all of their plants. You load your own loads. They also have (or had) a 2 or 3 tier pay system too. Give 'em a call I guess if that's what you wanna do. Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
