Let's say someone drives a bus and has a "B" license with passenger endorsement but they wanted to switch to driving a tanker. What's the process?
I know you'll need to take a written test to get a tanker endorsement. But someone's who's been driving a bus has no experience driving a tanker. How does this work?

Just what kind of tanker. If you are talking about one of the full sized tankers you are gonna need more than just a tanker endorsement, you are going to need a class A CDL also.
Then you are going to have to find someone willing to train you to drive one, which is a feat in itself as not too many companies will hire newbies to pull tankers as they can cause you a world of hurt in a hurry if not real careful.
