Eaglefreak: Word of advice----take curtainsides. Money is just as good and covering the load is one hell of a lot easier. Good Luck. Maybe I'll see ya' around Gary. Big red Int'l Eagle. Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party.

Hell I don't know anymore. They change things so damned often I can't keep track. I know I got a voice mail the other day trying to recruit drivers to curtainside div. Hafta' ask I guess. Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!

Answer:
to be honest, you can make just as much money dragging a van as you can a flatbed. But if you were like me, you have to try it for yourself. I know my pay check has not hurt any since making the move to van. I stay cleaner, and run more miles. $.02/mile and the petty tarp pay is not worth it IMHO, especially when you get a load of rough green lumber covered in snow that you have to throw full lumber tarps on with the temperature hovering around a balmy 5 degrees outside.

Answer:
Not to mention the damned WIND blowing 100 mph up your a$$. We have those days on curtainsides too. Had a guy drive a forklift "under" the curtain and take off a skid. Damned thing was blowing straight out from the trailer! Could'nt reach it from the ground. Waited til it died down enough to grab it. Last winter, I saw a Roehl flat driver blown right off a trailer---- damned tarp acted like a sail, and blew him and tarp about 20 feet behind the trailer. Luckily, he landed in a pile of snow. Just hurt his pride. Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!

Glad to hear your excited!! Wish you well. Don't listen to all the winers in the drivers lounge and smoking area. Remember - attitude is everything!!
Hey - I'm even thinking of coming back and driving. Things (my cancer) is doing real well on this end, but I don't want to over do it. Thinking 7/7.
