The Good, Bad, and Ugly...(Companies); Good Schools in San D
Question:
After reading a lot of different posts, I notice some companies have been given the thumbs-down.
Why exactly are the following companies (that accept Newbies) so bad?
Covenant
CR England
CRST
Swift

Also, I'd like to get a complete list of the good companies that accept Newbies.
So far, I hear that Schneider and Werner are acceptable.
Any others?
I got my CDL back in 1994 through ROP. It was an 8-month program. The best part was that it was free. Although I didn't get a driving job at that time, I've kept my CDL. Now, I'm thinking of applying to some companies, but I need a refresher course, which isn't cheap.
Can anyone recommend any good schools in my area (San Diego, California)?
Thanks.-- comedian RAY ROMANO, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond," in Newsweek.

Answer:
Roehl has a refresher course, but the school is in Marshfield, WI. They do have a terminal in Fontana, CA. Hope this helps. Razz Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off!
The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party.
IMPEACH BUSH!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
Razz, thanks for the Roehl referral.
I completed their online application, which is fairly extensive.
There was something about "driver domicile" mentioned in the app, though.
So I get the impression they want their drivers to reside in Wisconsin.
We'll see if I hear back from them.-- comedian RAY ROMANO, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond," in Newsweek.

Answer:

CRST will starve you starting out. No joke! There "lead drivers" may have only a couple months experience.
