TRANSAM TRUCK CO.
Question:
Hi, my sweetie is thinking of switching over from Werner to Trans-am truck co. He's been talking to a few of their drivers and likes what he hears so far. Can anyone out there tell us more about this company please?? Thank you, Mike's gal Safe driving to all. Answer: Do an archives search here, at layover.com, ooida.com, and safersys.org. You should find info on 'em. BOL Answer: I've worked for TransAm and Werner, and am working for Werner now. Both I think are good companies in their own right. Trans Am is refrigerated and haul primarily meat from the midwest to the east coast. Mainly Pennsylvania, New York, and the New England States. They are a good company with good equipment. Freightliner Centuries and Classics. The Classics are all automatics. Last I heard at least. They don't go west of Denver, and if they do, it's not very often. What's to tell, they're a trucking company! Depending on his experience, depends on his pay. I left them with over 3.5 years experience and was making .335 CPM. If he don't mind lumping 45,000 pound meat loads at $80-100 a pop, then it's a good company for him.(not all loads he will unload, some but not all maybe 2 out of 10) If he wants a change from Werner, it would be a good one, I did the same thing. I went from Werner to Trans Am and worked for them 2 times. I haven't been with them for a while, so things might have changed. If he's unhappy at Werner and is looking for change, have him leave on good standings with Werner so that he can come back if he don't like TransAm. Answer: ...LOTS of (IBP) meat loads going to the east coast. 'Nuff said about that right there for me..."Pain is weakness leaving the body." "Nobody ever drowned in their own sweat." U.S.M.C.
