On-Line HM Training
Question:
The hazardous materials regulations require hazardous materials employees to be trained within 90-days of their date of hire and recurrent training must be provided every 3 years there after. Drivers that have an “H” or “X” endorsement can use the training and study time for “H” or “X” endorsement for their HM General Awareness training. The HM regs require 5 training requirements to be met: 1. General Awareness 2. Safety 3. Function Specific 4. Security Awareness 5. When applicable In-Depth Security training To assist carriers and HM shippers develop adequate training programs the Research and Special Programs Administration has developed PowerPoint presentations, student manuals, and instructor manuals for General Awareness and Safety Training. They will be very useful Answer: I have worked for several companies in the past, where they (Company) have their there drivers go through the training every 2 years.
