"Everything comes to he who hustles while he waits" Henry FordHenry Ford Answer: read this .. sounds like they (Prime) have been attacked without reason... http://www.otrprotrucker.com/press-releases/ooida.pdf Answer: Just because someone is found not guilty in a law suit does not mean that their bussiness practices are truly ethical or that they are really designed to live up to the hype. If you, or anyone else is truly serious about going with Prime then before leaving out you need to call them and ask for hard facts and figures. Ask them exactly what the cost of the following are: Truck payment Maintnence funds Escrow accounts Per mile charges excess mileage charges truck and cargo insurance Quallcomm charges and fees Charges for misc equipment..(load locks or tarps and straps if you are going flatbed) workers comp insurance health insurance (if they offer it and you want it) Exactly what you are responsible for out of pocket and will not be reimbursed for(oil, fuel, tires, blown engines, turbos, warrenty deductables, tolls, scale tickets, etc) As far as scale tickets go you might as well figure $9 a pop 5 times per week, and at least $50 per week for tolls. Once you have all of this info then set down and figure out what this is going to cost you and what your earning would be on a 2500 mile week. Might as well use 80 cpm earnings since that is all they will garuntee you will make. Figure in 6 mpg fuel average if you dont mind being hot or cold when you sleep, or 5.5 mpg if you like to be really comfy. (This will vary a lot in reality depending on driving style, types of loads, etc, but you will need something to plug in and better to shoot towards a worse case than a theoretically best case) Now then once you have done all that then come back and tell us just how juicy of a deal Prime is for the driver. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
