Question:
Hi,,,
Thanks for all the info, not sure it made me feel any better
J.B hunt,,,,,was one of them Hubby was thinking of,but not sure, its his choice when the time comes.
MT,,sounds like you had a bad time there. We never lived there, just always liked Ocala when we drove thru it on our way to Orlando.
Why does dry van suck in Florida???
So in other words,,,,,,going there may interfear with getting miles and loads?
Any more advise and input???Would love to hear more.
Thanks and safe driving to all of you.
Manny

Answer:
it is getting loads back out that is the issue for vans. The reason is that Flroida is mainly agriculture as far as "export" shipments go to other states, and there isnt much in the way of hard goods manufacturing going on in that state.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.

In other words....
A Drvr pulling a Reefer may have a little better chance of getting out of Florida, than a Drvr pulling a Dry Van would have.

Answer:
It looks like your interested in moving up around Ocala. If that is where you want to live you will not have a problem with either dry van or reefer. Contrary to what has been said there is alot of manufacturing going on up there. Lots of loads come and go from the area. It's when you want to live below I4 that you can have problems finding loads and companies to work for. Big companies anyway. There are lots of smaller companies that hire down here.
If Ocala is where you want to live I can't see much of a problem judging by the number of bigger company trucks that come and go from the area and the number of company terminals.
"going there may interfear with getting miles and loads?" Living in Ocala won't.
