Jakes in winter? How about...
Question:
Her is one for you, jakes in winter only if you know they are dry roads. However, I have had a driver tell me that if he is driving on snow packed roads on a day that is colder than a witch's a$$ in a december snowstorm , he will drive just as fast as normal because the snow becomes "STICKY" Well I live in Wisconsin and have all my life and I have never heard of that. How about it drivers? Anyone else ever heard of such a thing?
If i'm the worst thing that happens to you today... then you had a good day!!!

Answer:
.....and I've seen them charged with reckless driving. No matter what they believe, snow packed roads are no where near as sticky as clear, dry pavement and other, more sensable motorist slow down, and then these "super" drivers are just a danger to them selves and others.
A warmer, wet snow or iced over (glazed) is slisker than a cold, dry packed snow ... but both are slick and irrespective of any posted speed limits, when a driver fails to drive with due reguard for the safety of others life, limb, or property and fails to adjust his speed to conditions, Reckless Driving is an exellent and appropriate charge.
"I'm just a doin' my job, I'm the ..." (well, you know) ...
... and whatever you do, have a SAFE TRIP...

Answer:
For steering and grip to move but as soon as you use the brakes any harder than normal for winter conditions the normal things will happen. CRASH!!
Or at least a very exillarating skid!!
The friction from braking actually melts the snow or ice and you are now on beads of water scooting accross the before mentioned snow or ice.
Thats why skid marks are always shiny! The water beads are minute and refreeze as soon as you pass.
Being from Wi. you'll probaly noticed the "sticky' ice this fellow mentioned as you walked in it. You can forget about it being sticky when you involve 40 tons of kynetic energy.
Makes Me change the wax on my ski's, but doesnt make Me change safe driving habits!
I have occasion to use my jakes on snow and ice but never at high RPM and always with a eye to what my ABS trailer is doing and what the slope of the road is.
Might be a tough ticket to stick in the middle of nowhere. Going through Madison or that streach of I-90/94 should land you in jail if you dont slow for weather!!
My opinions, TC
