Answer:
I'm so glad you asked that of me Joe, after all the dumbest question I've ever seen was the one that was never asked.
"DE OPPRESSO LIBER" is latin for "The Oppressed Liberator" - This latin quote is used in the U.S. Army Green Beret crest which is placed over the flash or colors on the Beret worn by a Special Forces trooper.
and
"Carpe Diem" is latin for "Pluck the Day" - This latin quote was given to us by Quintus Horatius Flaccus a Greek philosopher and writer between the time of 65-68 B.C. in one of his most famous odes which uses agricultural metaphors to urge us to embrace the pleasures available in everyday life instead of relying on remote aspirations for the future - hence his immortal motto "Carpe Diem", or "pluck the day": Ask not - we cannot know - what end the gods have set for you, for me; nor attempt the Babylonian reckonings Leuconoƫ. How much better to endure whatever comes, whether Jupiter grants us additional winters or whether this is our last, which now wears out the Tuscan Sea upon the barrier of the cliffs! Be wise, strain the wine; and since life is brief, prune back far-reaching hopes! Even while we speak, envious time has passed: pluck the day, putting as little trust as possible in tomorrow!
And remember this always Joe, "You can buy an education but wisdom is truly a gift" - author unknown.

Answer:
That was interesting it amazes me what you can learn asking a truck driver. The Romans seem to still have a lot of wisdom to offer.
