the dark side of clubs, pubs and discos. everyone just wanna have fun even girls.
Question:
Why men don't say 'no' when she comes on strong
THERE'S no point being preachy about it. We're all adults here, so there's no need for me to tell you about the dangers of hooking up with strangers.
You can easily figure out that most guys who go to a bar, especially on a ladies night, are thinking only about sex.
Granted, guys think of very little else, but guys who go to a bar are more often than not looking to score, or at least hoping.
And increasingly, you find some girls don't mind.
Having spent Wednesday night this week at different night spots, I can safely say that you could cut the sexual tension in the air like a hot knife through butter.
A smile at a girl leads to a conversation fairly quickly, if she likes what she sees.
There will be an attempt at small talk but soon enough, the physical flirting begins.
First, there's a little brush of your shoulder, then, the leaning in to hear what you're saying clearer (apparently because the music is too loud) and, at the same time, placing a hand on your hip.
You respond by placing your arm around her back or on the small of her back. She moves in closer and it gets suggestive.
She suggests that she's open to anything, implying that it's okay for you to take it further.
Not long after, when the alcohol kicks in, she either takes you home or goes over to your place, whichever is more convenient.
It's not a temptation most men can resist.
Speaking as a man, when faced with such a situation, any thinking we do at this stage is done below the waistline.
We don't think about sexually-transmitted diseases, we don't think about unwanted pregnancies and we certainly don't think about the possibility that she might turn around and cry rape.
Thinking with the head on our shoulders is usually restricted to the morning after.
GUYS ASSUME SHE WANTS SEX
Most guys feel that there's an implicit understanding between the guys and gals at a club - if a girl comes to a club, dresses sexily, dances seductively or flirts openly, she's looking for sex.
I know, I know, a lot of you gals are shaking your head in protest.
Can't we just go to a club and have fun? Does it always have to be about sex or meeting guys?
I'm sure that's how quite a few of you think, but I'm just telling you how guys think and how little resistance they have in such situations.
A friend of mine who clubs regularly even admitted that sometimes, he finds himself unable to resist girls whom he didn't even find all that attractive, especially when they are the aggressor. He said: 'There's a certain thrill to being picked up by a girl, especially if there are other guys trying to hit on her. That's a big turn-on.'
And if we were to be perfectly honest about it, guys seldom go to clubs in the hope of finding his lifelong partner there (although there have been situations where they do find their lifelong partners there, usually in the arms of another man).
A club is first and foremost a place where people can meet and engage in some adult fun.

don't really believe? let me post something from NEWPAPER which features some true stories...
Disco girl drinks, then lets men make their move
LYNN has woken up in strangers' homes all over Singapore.
Earlier this year, she woke up in a Pasir Ris flat after the man she slept with had left for work.
'I came out of the room and saw his parents. I greeted them and ran out of the flat,' she said laughing.
'It was only after checking with my friends who were at the club with me that I knew whose flat I was in.
'I can only remember that he was very good-looking.'
Lynn is no stranger to one-night stands.
She even missed the interview we'd arranged for Wednesday because she'd been out clubbing on Tuesday night.
WOKE UP NAKED
When she woke up the next day, she was alone and naked on a bed in a hotel in Robertson Quay.
Her clothes were scattered all over the room and there was semen on her body.
There was a bruise on her left knee, but she had absolutely no clue when or how she hurt herself.
'I don't remember what happened the night before,' said the 21-year-old, who graduated from a polytechnic and found a job in the service industry three months ago.
'I only know that I went drinking with a few girlfriends and we met some guys.
'One of my friends told me that I was very drunk and left the pub with a man.'
Lynn asked not to be identified as her parents don't know about her after-work lifestyle.
She couldn't recall who she had left the pub with. But she vaguely remembers a guy telling her that he was leaving and that he would settle the hotel bill.
She went back to sleep and woke up again at 8am.
Instead of crying rape, Lynn took a shower and headed straight to the clinic for morning-after pills, which she takes religiously.
'I don't know if he used contraceptives. But seeing the dried semen on my body made me worried,' she said.
Asked if she regretted what she did, she replied: 'I'm only afraid that I'll get pregnant.
'Touch wood, it hasn't happened to me yet, although three of my five good friends have already had abortions. One of them even went through it twice.'
And if she gets pregnant from casual sex one day?
'I'll do the same.'
In another incident, Lynn was drinking at a Sentosa beach pub in the afternoon. By 4pm, she was barely conscious.
The next three hours were a blur.
'According to my friends, I was walking along the beach with different guys. When I woke up, my bikini bottom was gone from under my shorts,' said Lynn.
'I don't even know which guy I had sex with at the beach.'
A self-confessed beach bum, Lynn sports a tanned complexion and blonde streaks in her hair.
She parties in tank tops and short skirts, but she thinks it's her C-cup breasts that grab guys' attention.
She goes clubbing at least three times a week and she has slept with 20 men in three years.
Only a few were her steady boyfriends. Most were 'quick flings' who didn't use protection.
She closes her eyes to the deadly risk of getting HIV from casual sex.
The devil-may-care approach led to a bacterial infection once but it was treated with pills and cream.
This has given Lynn a misplaced confidence in unsafe sex.
Lynn's sexcapades began when she was a polytechnic student, clubbing six times a week - Monday was her only 'day off'.
Her favourite hangouts are Liquid Room, China Bar, Zouk, Eastside and Siam Supper Club.
Every sexual tryst began with alcohol.
'When a guy sees you drinking whisky, he'll purposely buy you a beer... He knows that mixing drinks will make you drunk faster,' Lynn explained.
She prefers men over 25 and the oldest man she has slept with was 16 years older than her.
'Usually these men start with buying you drinks.
'Then they start to touch you or whisper into your ears, blowing into them occasionally. If the women don't resist, the guys take that as a sign of consent.
'It always take two hands to clap.'
On a few occasions, Lynn has taken men back to the 4-room HDB flat she shares with her parents and younger sister.
'I don't usually take men home because I share a room with my sister.
'However, when my parents are out of town, my sister will sleep in my parents' room so I can invite someone over.'
Although her mum became suspicious about her frequent late nights and hangovers, Lynn would lie that she had gone drinking at a friend's house and had fallen asleep on the couch.
'Sometimes, I'd SMS my mum at 3 or 4am to tell her I wasn't going home. That led to her suspect my activities after dark.
'So whenever I go to some guy's house to have sex, I try to leave in the middle of the night so that I'd be in my own bed before my mum wakes up in the morning.'
Her dangerous lifestyle started about three years ago when her relationship with her then-boyfriend soured.
'I wanted to get back at him, and cheating on him was the worst thing I could do,' said Lynn.
'This is a lifestyle I've adapted to,' she said.
Living for the moment. That, apparently, is a bigger concern to her than her parents' wrath, an unwanted pregnancy or Aids.

More women drinking harder
BY SKYE TAN AND EDWIN YEO
IT'S a power girl thing.
Some women want to work hard, party hard and drink hard.
Out of seven nightspots we asked, six said there is definitely an increase in the number of woman drinkers.
"It's part of their lifestyle," said Mr Kenny Skeoch, director of entertainment at Dbl O.
And no, it's no longer fruit juices and mocktails.
"They're definitely more receptive to beer and other drinks," said Mr Andrew Koh, 32, assistant general manager at Harry's Bar.
It's a trend he has noticed over his nine years at the bar.
It used to be that women shouldn't get drunk, but getting drunk has also lost some of its bad connotations in some circles, said Mr Gordon Foo, floor supervisor at Devil's Bar.
China Jump's beverage manager Mr Sunny Abdul Sales, 28, estimates that 40 per cent of the club's clientele is female.
Out of this 40 per cent, a third drink alcohol, and 15 per cent may get drunk on a weekend night.
"Women also want to get high, and when they get high they get happier. Sometimes they think they can handle it, but some are not aware of their limits," said Mr Sales.
Ms Serene Osman, who has been a bartender at Dubliners for 4• years, said that some women drinkers "do get wild, hit on men" and "a lot of them make a mess of themselves, vomiting and all".
She has even seen a woman take her clothes off in a drunken haze, she added.

He makes his move when they're drunk
HE'S a serial womaniser with a history of one-night stands.
He claims he's bedded more than 20 women in the past two years.
And, insane as it is, Tommy Ou is not afraid of Aids. 'I use a condom every time,' he said.
HIS LOOKS HELP
Casual sex means nothing to him, and he doesn't think the woman will ever cry rape the morning after.
He targets pubs and discos, chatting with the girls first to find out more about them before making sure that they want to have sex too.
Alcohol, sweet talk and his suave Japanese pop idol looks always help.
The 26-year-old sales executive goes clubbing with a few friends twice a week.
Once he steps into a pub, his eyes discreetly sweep the dance floor and bar-counters, looking for possible targets.
'I don't go for the beautiful ones - they're usually hard to get. I target the normal-looking ones, especially those who hang out in small groups of just two or three friends.'
He targets voluptuous, scantily-dressed women.
'Most of them appear highly intoxicated and dance sensually on the dance floor,' he explained.
'I usually ask if I can buy them a drink or dance with them. We'd order several jugs of beer and challenge one another to bottoms up. When you're high or drunk, you'll have the guts to do more, such as touching each other or going home together.'
Women usually start leaning on Mr Ou after three or four jugs of beer.
'When the woman leans on me, her body language tells me she's comfortable with me,' said Mr Ou.
'Those who want to get intimate quickly usually like to whisper into my ear, occasionally sticking their tongues into it.
'When they do that, you know it's okay to take them home.'
But once they get into a cab, he'll find excuses not to take her home, like going for supper or to a friend's house to drink some more.
If she's still keen, 'Then I'll ask her if she wants to spend the night at my house,' said Mr Ou, who lives in a 4-room flat with his parents and younger brother.
'Even though the woman might appear drunk, I'm sure she knows what she's doing. From the way she walks, often clinging onto me for support, to answering my questions, I'd know she wants sex with me.
'The moment we enter my room, she'd take off her clothes almost immediately. We'd have sex twice before falling asleep.'
The following morning, the couple usually goes for breakfast together before Mr Ou takes her home.
'Sometimes we exchange contact numbers. But most of the time, we would just say 'see you at the club',' said Mr Ou.
The women he picked up are between 22 and 33 years old.
About three women wanted a stable relationship with Mr Ou, but he told them that he already has a girlfriend.
ONE WAS MARRIED
'Some of these women also have boyfriends. One of them was married with kids,' claimed Mr Ou.
However Mr Ou won't have sex with women who appear too drunk and cannot talk sense.
'If I like the girl, I'd stay with her outside the pub until she has sobered up,' said Mr Ou.
'I won't take home a woman who is too drunk. It's very troublesome and there's no point in doing it.'
