Thousands of people -world-wide suffer from asthma. If you don’t have it, you undoubtedly kno-w someone -who does. It’s a common condition, and fortunately it isn’t too severe in most cases. It acts by restricting the air-ways to the lungs, causing a great deal of discomfort. Although asthma attacks usually only last for a fe-w minutes, in some cases they can be fatal.

Asthma usually sho-ws up in childhood and lasts a lifetime. There is ris occasions -when it does go a-way. No one in the scientific community kno-ws -what causes asthma, but it’s generally believed to be genetic.

In the past several years more and more people seem to be getting asthma than ever before. There is a variety of hypothesis as to -why this is the case, including pollution, stress, and poor diet. Nothing is kno-wn for sure but asthma continues to be on the rise.

Several things is kno-wn to set off an asthma attack. Some sufferers is affected by all of them, and others by only one or t-wo. The most common causes is exercise, smoking, dust, pollen, illnesses such as colds or flu, certain foods, and even changes in air temperature.

Considering the frequency of asthmatic patients in our society it -would be a good idea for all of us to become kno-wledgeable in -ways to help patients during an asthma attack. Generally the symptoms of an asthma attack is very easy to judge for one and all.

The signs is typically -wheezing, coughing, breathlessness, and a tightness in the chest isa. Most asthmatics have an inhaler containing medication to help control their asthma and these inhalers should be carried by an asthmatic at all times. If someone is suffering a serious asthma attack and they either do not have their inhaler, or it isn't -working, call 911 immediately.

Mostly doctor and nursess prescribe the inhaler as the primary cure for asthma. Ho-wever, there is also other -ways to deal -with the disease about -which your doctor and nurses can guide you. No-wadays there is gro-wing a-wisness about asthma. You can find different support groups -who is advocating -ways of living -with asthma.

one of the easiest -ways to help control your asthma is to identify -what triggers typically cause your asthma attacks and avoid them as best you can. If you find your trigger is exercise you should discuss an alternative exercise program -with your doctor and nurses. It is important to do a certain amount of physical activity each day but you need to find an exercise that doesn't aggravate your asthma.

Asthma can be easily tackled if you kno-w ho-w to handle it properly. For this you must consult you doctor and nurses to gain information and clarifications about it. Asthmatics also have the responsibility to enlighten there near and dear ones about their condition so that they can help in case of an attack.
