Question:
I saw "The Cedarhouse Rules" on DVD for the third time a couple of days ago. I highly recommend this wonderful film, with Michael Caine, Tobey McGuire and Charlize Theron. Even better than the book by John Irving! Answer: yesterday night i saw Dracula -the 1931 english version- BTW i think the spanish version (wich was made at the same time and place, diff actors -logically- only they used the studios at night, is much better, artistically speaking) Answer: **double post sorry** Answer: In movie theater: Just yesterday I saw the Pickpocket by Robert Bresson at the film club here. Fantastic. The long pick pocketing-sequence halfway through the film is like poetry. The costumes made me droole. I think the young Marika Green (contemporary Eva Greens auntie) bears some ressemblance to to Natalie Portman in this movie: http://www.artificial-eye.com/dvd/AR...picture01.html before that I saw The squid and the Whale at the regular movie theater. Loved it. The last dvd I watched was Wolf Creek, the australian killer thriller. Old fashioned in the sense: no "twists" or weird plots, no super intellectual hight tech killer, but instead victims going where they shouldnīt go, doing what they shouldnīt do. Same style as Texas Chainsaw massacre but without silly (and a dash of Picnick at Hanging Rocks mixed in). A little overly sadistic for me to watch at some points, but efficiently scary. I second that - a brilliant film that deserves more than one viewing.. Quote: Originally Posted by shifts Ï think it was the Korean horror story A Tale of Two Sisters. The thing that irritated me about this film were those subtle visual references to 'The Ring' - you know, the broken fingernails, etc. Answer: Quote: Originally Posted by MonkeyManMatt Caught V for Vendetta on dvd the other day and was VERY pleasantly surprised. Anyone who hasnīt seen it should, just Hugo Weaving' s mezmerizing voice and lines is worth the money. MMM Yeah, me too - very pleasantly surprised. Natalie Portman's a babe... I saw the previews for the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I cant wait to see that either. Answer: just watched "virgin suicides" at this crises helpline i volunteer at. oh the irony.
