When I was in high school Izod and Lacoste were connected somehow and so all the Izod products had the alligator on them. So we would "buy" (what can I say, I was a 16 year old punk who thought nothing about getting a 5 fingered discount when I could) Izod socks, take the alligators off them and put them on what ever we wanted. It's also possible to get lucky on ebay, though most of those are fakes. My friend ordered a massive amount of them, sold me one for $35 and yes it is real. The prices now seem to have dropped. I saw a really nice button down shirt there, only $60. It was SO hard to walk away.
