Erotica: do you read or write any? - Page 2
Question:
I have in the past read an awful lot of Erotica... And have written a few 'pieces' too. Not too many of those mentioned. I too read Anais nin but found it to be more sensual then truly erotic.

In my last years school I was all the rage because I decided to write a serial based on the cliched 'girl works her way the the whole football team' premise. I think I got fed up buy the time she had managed 2/3rds of them and I know that it included at least one threesome.

Thankfully, a teacher got hold of a copy and confiscated the lot and I received a stern talking to. I didn't care - I was sick to death of it by then. But it sure helped my cool rating in the rec room...

Answer:
I've read a bit of Nin and Henry Miller. It didn't really stir me up too much.
What I recommend is what I would term "pre-erotica". Try Kate Chopin. All of her work is very based on women's sexual/social liberation and very sensual in nature. But specifically read "The Storm". To me, it is the benchmark. I won't give away more than to say: it's the laugh at the end that clinches it. Brilliant.

Answer:
Guillaume Apollinaire "Les Onze Mille Verges" is very funny.
I collect some erotic art!

this thread inspired me to see if I could find "Chariot of Flesh" from the Olympia press, by the incredible Alfred Chester writing as "albert nesbitt" and I got a first edition paperback from 1969 from amazon for only $3 more than the reprint that came out in 2005. It's going to be great!

Answer:
I remember my parents always had (Penthouse?) Forum... It was just letters, no pics... I used to sneak 'em out and read them I was ten, but quite literate for my age... I also read, "I'm OK, You're OK" at around that age... Not erotic, but it gives you some idea of my reading level at that age... It really wreaked havoc on the parents when they tried to play the reverse-psychology game.

Come to think of it, I probably have more in common with Augusten Burroughs than I'd care to admit publicly !

I've also read some of the, "Hot Blooded?" series - short story collections of erotic horror. Tried to read Miller, Sexus, I believe but never finished it.

*Edit* How did I possibly leave out Anne Rice/Rampling's , "Exit to Eden"??? *BLUSH*

I loved it, very funny and spontaneous -> NOT FOR FAINTED HEART! LOL
Histoire de Juliette by DAF de Sade, once called the most infamous novel of all times
also Story of O is my favorite because this tale of bondage and sexual power was anonymously written by a woman, people thought it had to be a man, a woman could not be as immoral!

Answer:
I'm writing a book of erotic poems at the moment. Mostly it is done, but there are a few things I want to add over the next few months.

Please inform us when it is released, Eluard? No, my dear, this is my "other" book. My official book is on a rather technical area of semantics. This book of er. poems is something I've been putting together slowly over the past few years. But I will definitely pass on when it's all done. Maybe there can be some basenotes giveaways!
