Name your local grocery stores! - Page 3

Or at Quatre Freres, that's pretty close by, as well. Family-run stores are sadly becoming a rarity in most of the USA...thanks to Wal-Mart. Just how many freakin' supercenters can they cram into a small city?

Answer:
Chains: Ralphs, Von's (Pavillions)
Demi chains: Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Bristol Farms
Family owned: Beverly Hills Market
There's also a farmers market on Sundays adjacent to city hall

Answer:
King Supers, Safeway, and Whole Foods.

The boys in Bentonville crammed in four Wal-Mart Supercenters here in Fort Wayne, the second-biggest city in Indiana. But that's not all: A fifth one is being built as I speak in nearby New Haven, and a sixth near where I live will break ground real soon. And, of course, their Sam's Club warehouse club division has a store here, too.
It's getting to the point where some longtime locals are now calling our city "Fort Wal-Mart"!

Answer:
Ralph's, Von's, Albertsons, Stater Bros., Walmart, Cosco.
I usually go to Cosco because on almost every corner they offer snacks to try. By the time you get out, you've had dinner.

Answer:
ugh.. i hate walmart/sam's club/neighborhood market/whatever else.
around here in salt lake, we've got albertsons, harmons, smiths, super target, wild oats, and probably some that i can't think of at the moment. i love those five though.

Answer:
We do not shop at SuperCenters: Walmart, Target, Costco or Sam's. We do have Kroger, Albertson's, Tom Thumb and Sack'n'Save (you have to pack your own groceries in their baggies, plastic or paper). Winn-Dixie and Rainbow went out of business. We buy the bulk -- once every two weeks -- at Kroger, and stop occasionally for bread, cooked chicken or I-gotta-have -it-now cravings at Albertson's.
