cold weather: does it affect you? - Page 2
Question:
It's been getting around 0 F here. Then whatever the windshield factor is. Our rivers and creeks have been frozen over. But I hear it is like that in parts of New York as well.

Answer:
I know that weather!! I'm from Westchester, White Plains to be exact, and I know how brutal the east coast weather can be. It's terrible stuff. I am much happier with the Colorado cold because it's different. It's hard to explain without feeling the difference for youself. It's not too shabby out here, even when it is cold.
Effects of cold on me: Runny nose ALL THE TIME!, Allergies (never understood this one), Waking up with a mucus cloging all my airways. That is about it!
My theory about the cold weather is that you can always put something else one when you are cold, but when you are hot there is only so much you can take off...

Answer:
I hate the cold. It makes my nose red and runny and my eye water, so I look ugly on a cold day. At least until I get inside!
It snowed in London today - it's all be washed away by sleety rain now but apparently it will freeze tonight causing lots of black ice. Joy.

Answer:
This last week it has been down in the -30F to -20F range with winds around 10 to 15 knots. It is not unusual for the windchill to dip below -50F.
The funny part about it is how quickly I adapt- it was -1F when I woke up this morning, and I was delighted by how warm it was (and how easily my car started).
The cold weather might have a role in my general energy levels, but I am guessing that I'm mostly just anxious about my upcoming deployment. So I've been irritable and tired this week (and this weekend, which I had to work). At least I know that the dry skin is from the weather.
I'd say that the worst part about needing to bundle up is that most of my SOTD ends up on my parka liner; that being said, my liner smells magnificent.

Answer:
Cold here too in Pennsylvania, zero degrees and about the same humidity. Bothers me only if I let it. I just need to remember how I feel in August when the temperature (and the humidity too, it seems) pushes 100 degrees and the air just sits there. Bleah, attitude adjusted.

Answer:
Yes, it affects me; I truly hate it!

Answer:
I live in South Florida.
what the heck is 'cold weather'?
