Cigar anyone?
Question:
I know that a thread or two has made it's way in the Off Topic section, but I'd like to make the question broader than "Do you like Punch Cigars?" or "Do you smoke cigarettes?".
What are your favorite brands of cigars?
How long have you been smoking?
How often do you smoke?
Who do you smoke with?
My favorite brands are Arturo Fuente, Bolivar, and Cohiba (Dominican).
Arturo Fuente was one of the first cigars I smoked, and I remember thinking at the time "Kind of smokey!". For some reason, I just kept buying them, and I realized one day that I really liked them. Hemmingway Signature and and double coronas happen to be my all time favorites in this brand.

Bolivar
cigars used to be hard to find in KC. After buying a three pack and loving each and every one of them, I look for Bolivars every where I go. Thick, dark, and strong smoke make it a lovely cigar for me. Their oily dark wrapper is also tasty to chew on even if you're not a fan of knawing on your stogie.
Cohiba, what can I say, I had a 7 incher on my graduation night. I bought my friend a Garcia Vega, because he procrastinated on buying a cigar, and I ran home and got my beauty that I had gotten out every day for a week just to smell it. We lit up... and WHAT THE HELL? I paid ten dollars for a cigar I can't taste? Awwww, bullshi... wait a minute... what's that? Throughout the smoke, the taste got stonger and stronger and I found myself watering at the eyes by the time the ash hit the band. The most divine cigar I've ever had though. Jason said his Garcia Vega was the best he'd ever had (Being our graduation night), so we both ended up happy.
I've been smoking for a year today. I had my first cigar the day after my 18th birthday. I'd had a few puffs off of cigarettes, and hated it, but I had an uncontrollable urge to try cigars. I'm really glad I did. At one point I had a humidor with about 30 cigars in it, but I learned the hard way how much up keep a humidor is, and ruined all thirty of those cigars. The last one I smoked was about a month ago, but I'm definitely getting a few for the warmer weather, when I drop back into KC tomorrow. I'll be glad to see my cigar shop buddies again, catch up on the latest cigar talk.
For the most part, I smoke alone, but after coming to K-State, it's not hard to find anyone willing to go down to the corner store to pick up an A. Fuente and smoke one with them. I'm very pensive when I smoke, and I've smoked probably 20 cigars on different occasions at 2 in the morning, just to help me sort things out.

Answer:
I smoke Montecristo #2s — about once a week. I don't want to do it any more frequently, and frankly it would be hard to afford it. But once a week it is a very nice thing to do. I sit on the verandah in the late afternoon and light up.

Answer:
Seven and half weeks smoke free, and counting!
Rich - some people can smoke once a week/month and carry on for ages. Some of us are slaves to nicotine. Enjoy it (as I did for 15-20 years) but if you start to feel the hooks getting into you - run a mile.

When I was 16 or 17, my friends and I would go to this store around the block from school and buy cigs + cigars. The store was run by these really old Asian couple and they never IDed anyone. I remember we used to smoke these really cheap (under 2 bucks) tiny cigar that were vanilla flavored. They were called Pom Pom's.

I never really liked smoking, and never bought a pack myself. I'd just take a puff now and then and share with friends. After High School ended, we all went are separate ways and I never took up the habit on my own.

I remember New Years Eve one year, still underage; I had this one really big and cheap cigar. I was smoking it too fast and got really sick. I ended the night earlier to head home. When I got home, I threw up in the washroom and then took a long shower, after that I felt fine. I was talking to a buddy and he said you had to let the stuff roll in your mouth, not smoke it like there's no tomorrow.

Also, we had the chance to vacation in Cuba once, but we never bought any cigars.

Answer:
Cigars get a thumbs-up, though i lean towards cigarettes. Gitanes, Gauloises, or Marlboro.
Jamaican Macanudo Portofino Cafes are a cigar i've enjoyed in the past ... love the flavor!

Answer:
I started smoking cigars about 10 years ago after giving up pipe tobacco smoking after 20+ years. Never smoked cigs. and never learned to inhale.
Here are my favorites:
Partagas Lusitanias
Punch DCs
RAGs
All those are Double Coronas. I smoke 1-3 a day. They take me about an hour and a half a piece.
For kicks, get a pack of Dove Dark Chocolate pieces and place one in the roof of your mouth as you smoke........... Succulent Joy!

Answer:
Oh, good choices, I forgot about Punch cigars! Very tasty morsel indeed, although even what my friends call a drawn out smoke will only get forty five minutes out of a Punch DC... Maybe I'm just wierd with them. I'll try the chocolate!
