Biting the Bullet. - Page 2
Question:
Congratulations and may all your troubles be little ones .
I know people who were so stressed by their wedding day that they said they were glad when it was all over. Wrong ... this is the day when you commit yourself to being happy with the person you are going to share your life with, at the only time when you are going to have all the people you both care about most in the world under one roof, and you get to chose the music and you get to dress up great and, as a Basenotes groom, you get to smell very special too. From start to finish a wonderful day - have a really great one!

Answer:
"L'accord parfait ne désireras qu'en mariage seulement."
-- Sartre (sic)
He should have known better than to smoke Gauloises because Gitanes are far superior, but i forgive him.
Cheers!
edit: postscript
PS: The quote is from Erik Satie (i think), i just wanted to poke a little fun at Sartre.
A good translation is: "Perfect harmony you shall abhor except in holy matrimony."
Best,
'r.'

Answer:
Thanks Shycat, Cologne Junkie, Chris, Rich, Shades of Blue, Michael and CoTHukoB for your warm wishes kind words. I've just read all the postings out to my fiance over the phone, and she appreciated them very much also.

- Rich Thanks. It's good having a hobby in common. Oddly enough, of all the scents I've bought for her, the one that always surprises me when she wears it, was a relatively cheap on - Benetton Sport Woman.
For some weird reason people get all stressed over this sort of event - particularly members of the family and helpers. I figured the best way to get rid of the stress they apparently are susceptible to, is to reduce the time frame.
In the last three days I've booked the priest and church for a church service rather than nuptial mass, booked the reception centre and organised a chap to assemble the diamond engagement and wedding rings, and made a list of the invited. The main part is done, the rest is relatively simple, particularly as Judy and I have decided to dispense with groomsmen, bridesmaids, someone giving the bride away (no one owns her anyway).

She said, "He really is right about it, isn't he?"

Answer:
congratulations, Renato!
-- ps: I'll miss your use of the word "lady friend" on this board

Answer:
Congratulations to you both Renato. As we Aussies are wont to say in all and any situation: `good on yer'. I wish you both all the happiness in the world!

Answer:
Thanks very much Hirch_Duckfinder, Marcello and Eluard.
Marcello - Yes, that's how I've been referring to her here for the last three and a half years. I too have very much liked using the term "ladyfriend". Anyhow, for the next few weeks she'll be the fiance.

Answer:

Is it strange to say: "this is my fiancée"? i wonder...

I've only said it a few times because - we live apart - and there have only been a few opportunities. And after this weekend, there won't be anymore because it'll be "this is my wife" by lunch time next Saturday.
