#1: The Beatles, #2: Pink Floyd: Agree?
Question:
Does anyone agree with me that number two on the list of the best bands ever are Pink Floyd, after The Beatles? Answer: Nope. At least I don't. 1.) Incubus 2.) 311 3.) Tool 4.) ACDC 5.) The Doobie Brothers 6.) Blink 182 7.) Greenday I don't really want to cause you anymore pain, so I'll stop there, but I'm a youngin', so I suppose I wont have the same tastes as you. I just never really liked The Beatles that much, although I've listened to Pink Floyd on occasion. - Rich Answer: Well, I'm in my late twenties. You ain't causin me no pain. But I think you should listen to The Beatles' later stuff. Out of the bands you listed, I like Tool, ACDC, and Greenday. Answer: Like Stawberry Fields? I felt like I should either have a joint in my hand or some shrooms in my pocket... Not in the good way. - Rich Answer: I agree with #1 and #2. Sometimes I feel that Pink Floyd is played out, and then I will hear a song that I haven't heard in ages and...boom! The other day I heard Echoes. How can four cats do that? Wow. Let There Be More Light! The Beatles are from another planet man. Another freaking planet. The White Album is so unbelieveable, and Rubber Soul is better than most bands' "best of's" Dear Prudence, indeed. Answer: Not to ancient folk like me. 1. Hawkwind 2. Velvet Underground 3. The Doors 4. Neil Young & Crazy Horse Renato Answer: 1. Beatles--just because they were groundbreakers 2. Pink Floyd 3. Led Zepplin 4. The Doors Here, I get all confused. I start thinking of Jethro Tull, U2, The Rolling Stones, and I'm pretty fond of The Gorillas, young though they are, I have hope for them. I put Neil Young in a different class with Paul Simon and Elton John, their bands could be anybody because it's the songs and voice that matter. What about Phil Collins? He means a lot to me because he can play the drums and sing at the same time. You don't know how hard it is until you try it. Don Henley doesn't count, I can do the same thing, except he has a far far far better voice than I do. Ah, forgot to mention Sting. He's got a special place in my heart. That and he hires some of the most phenomenal drummers around. - Rich Answer: Pink Floyd has some of the worst songs I know. They are for people tripping balls on acid because they would only make sense to those people. They have a few good songs but everything else is total crap. I have almost all of their albums and I'm not satisfied with 2 good songs per album. They do not deserve the top anything. I do no like the Beetles all the much either. They have a lot of good stuff, but a lot of really boring stuff too. They are good but not good enought for number 1. I would nominate some old stuff that is often overlooked. Jethro Tull, The Doors, and Zepplin. Answer: Originally Posted by EnvYuS Jethro Tull Now here is music you need to be tripping balls on acid to listen to!
