Question:
As you may know, I'm on vacation in the Big Island of Hawaii right now. Still, I couldn't wait to reveal this hilarious story to tell from the trip.
There was this guy sitting in front of me on the flight from Oakland to Hilo in the Business Class section of the plane, which was an ATA Airlines Boeing 737-800. He was drinking cocktails and living the high life, while I was stuck right behind him in steerage. I felt embarrassed for a while.
That is, until we arrived in Hilo. Once we arrived in the dated airport terminal and got our bags, the guy ran up to the same rental car counter as us. Was he going to rent a Jeep Grand Cherokee? Nope... he rented a Kia Rio (the cheapest car you can buy or rent), as he "didn't want to spend more than $40 a day in both the car and gas". (Remember, gas is at least $3 a gallon in Hawaii.)
I felt bad for him... how could he afford a business class ticket, but be such a cheapskate when it came to the car?

Frequent flyer miles??? That's how we get to Hawaii.

Probably frequent flier or an upgrade. Or he has budgeted that he can afford business class flight if he cuts back elsewhere maybe?

Answer:
Perhaps it doesn't matter what kind of car your going to drive. A Kia is far more fuel efficient and better for the environment too.
