Best Shower Gels to originate from edt's
Question:
Which scents translate best into shower gels? *Which houses tend to make quality shower gels? *And last but not least, where is a good place (online or otherwise) to purchase shower gels for cheap seperate from the cologne? *Thanks guys, this area of scent is new to me so I appreciate the help.

Answer:
I find fresh scents from the citrus, marine/acquatic and herb families (mint, basil etc) make the best scents for shower gels. In a shower I want to get and feel clean, and these scents do that for me. The other thing I look for in a shower gel is that it's going to be non-soap based so that it doesn't dry out the skin - having added moisturisers is a plus, and that the fragrances aren't lasting ones - because I sure don't want them clashing with whatever scent I put on after the shower. I enjoy using Geo. F. Trumper's Limes and GFT shower gels because of all that. Phytomer Homme, Zirh and Nickel all make good shower gels as well. As to sales, not sure where you are based, so don't feel I can advise, hopefully other posts can assist.

Answer:
I've got about 30 different designer scented shower gels. I can honestly say that there wasn't single one that did not translate the scent well.
But I don't use them to wash with. I use them to put an extra layer of scent on, by applying a small amount in a sponge just before the final quick rinse.

Guess what... I was just thinking the same thing.
I've tried the Mugler gels (A*Men, B*Men, and Cologne) and they all are fabulous. Likewise, the Bvlgari ones are excellent, too. I also like the Mugler Cologne soap a lot, too.
But the best stuff I have used bar none is the Bvlgari The Vert bar soap. There's a reason why they put this in some of the world's finest hotels... amazing scent, lathers wonderfully, and leaves my skin feeling just right. I got it at Marshalls yesterday for $4, which is an absolute steal considering that it normally costs $25. For that matter, a room at the Four Seasons with the same stuff is $400 a night.
Haven't tried much else, as I tend to use good ol' Dial soap when wearing scents that I don't have gels for.

Answer:
I have tried many different shower gels from designer to drug store, and D&G is by far my favorite. It is the only shower gel I've asked for specifically as a gift because I ran out of my old bottle. It has the powdery floral essence of the edt, but doesn't carry the top notes much, so it is perfect for layering and trying new things. I found that while it is obviously a perfect complement to the edt, I like it even more when I wear it with Armani Mania. This gel provides a perfect sophisticated base to any green scent.
