Question:
Soliciting opinions on this boot. Are there any? Answer: Nice Answer: Originally Posted by mysteriousmongoose Nice There are many four-letter words in the English language. "Hey, those look good for strolling through a dewy meadow in the morning!" ... or "Man, those'd be great for kicking in a skull!" Haha. Answer: I'm sorry, but I just couldn't resist. I HAD to see what you reaction to "Nice" would be Actually, I think they look elegant and interesting, and would be particularly effective if the rest of the look was very understated. They look terrible for strolling through a dewy meadow in the morning. Unless you had no choice, because you'd woken up on a road beside the meadow, with no conscious memory of how you got there, or where the rest of your apparel had got to. Answer: Or perhaps the kind of elegant understatement one might acquire (or be lent) while wearing a certain t-shirt and having a wee chat with David? Haha, i couldn't resist either. A little credit, please. More opinions, people! -------------------------------------- No other thoughts? Well, here's my thinking so far. The heel is a little high. Yea, i can see why it is that way - just look at the overall construction. Which begs the question: which came first? The heel or the toe? Also, as interesting as the hardware up front is, it makes the boot less versatile and suitable to fewer and more specific venues. Still a damn good pair, though. Anything else? Answer: As a woman, I would consider dating a man who wore boots that looked like that. Bad shoes are actually a deal breaker for me. You can tell a lot about a man from his footwear. These boots are pretty cool. Answer: Originally Posted by Indiscreet As a woman, I would consider dating a man who wore boots that looked like that. Bad shoes are actually a deal breaker for me. You can tell a lot about a man from his footwear. These boots are pretty cool. Oh, you'd 'consider' it, would ya? Think you can handle a man who wears these not because they have a trendy name on them ... but just because? PS: I'm counting on you being a good sport and reading this correctly. I'm not being confrontational. Just being me. Answer: Trendy name? They do? No no, I actually like them - I was a bit of a goth in my younger years and prefer guys in boots to shoes (actually I really don't like shoes much at all, even on me). The boots you've got here are a bit rebel, a bit rock 'n' roll, and I like that. Answer: Mark Nason's name has been plastered all over the place, so i suppose it's 'trendy'. Here's the site, some interesting things there if you're curious; the boot as well: http://www.marknason.com/mn_ie/index.html Okay. I was taken aback by the "I'd consider..." and wanted to know the tone of voice behind it. If you'd gotten it wrong, i'd have ripped you a new one, hehe. Just kidding. Seems the mongoose has deserted me and i have a job opening for a muse! Interested, Goth-girl? Get over to the Neverending story and let's see what you can do, Indi. Answer: Hee hee it wasn't meant to be inflammatory. I guess it sounded a bit shallow but essentially, if someone dresses a certain way, I know if they will have things in common with me, and footwear is the biggest indictator of that! Obviously, someone can be wearing clothes I love but if he's not a nice person, he's not going to get anywhere. (Then again this is all academic as I have been with the same guy for about 7 years now!) Anyway, yes, nice boots, but I've never heard of Mark Nason until now!
