Trimming is better, less scratchy than shaving.

Waxing balls and ass can be great once in a while too. The smoothness is very sensual. It hurts a bit and you need to find an estetician you feel confortable with, usually the uglier she is the better LOL.

I am generally not a fan of shaving the body and I think a grown man with completely bare tackle is very creepy. That said, I did once give myself a trim and a shave on a lark and it turns out my wife really enjoyed it. And her enjoying it made me enjoy it (for reasons I will not go into) so I tend to keep it up. Your results may vary of course.
As for advice ,the Menessentials article covers it well enough. I think waxing would be worth trying but how to find someone to do it?!

I find the best thing to do is to go to the local beauty supply store and get a set of clippers (the kind they use for military cuts) that comes with the numbered attachments. They even make clippers now that fit in the palm of your hand (its called The Peanut) Put on the shortest attachment that way it trims it nice and close but yet doesnt go so close yer scratching yer balls off the next day. And if you do wanna go super close just use it without an attachment. Hope this helps...
