OS X Leopard release set back
Question:
DAMMIT! I have been waiting for this all damn winter, and what do you know, they set the damn date back to October of '07! Not like I can't live without it, I mean Tiger is the best OS I've ever owned, but they're letting Vista get another leg up on 'em. Thoughts?

Answer:
I haven't followed this at all, but from what I've heard about the glitches with Vista, it isn't in fantastic shape (e.g., It's locking down the computers at all the branches of NYPL that have installed it).
Have you heard anything about the reasons given for holding back Leopard? I mean, that's a LONG wait that they seem to be talking about.
I still haven't installed Tiger on my laptop, although it does have some nice features.

Answer:
The reason they gave was the need to commit resources to the iPhone. I just hope that by the time Leopard is released it is already mature and stable (effectively a 10.5.2 release) rather than the kind of premature release that Tiger was when it first came out.
The bright side is that this gives us longer to enjoy a stable operating system, 10.4.9, before we lurch off into unstable territory again. Yes, i want it and will install it as soon as comes out, but in the end the stable final releases are worth enjoying while you have them.
