When do you consider re-purchasing a bottle? - Page 2
Question:
After a 20 year hiatus, I just welcomed back Kouros in to my collection. I never even considered it until joining Basenotes... Answer: If i consider it a 5 star I will restock. If its a four star that I am fond of or can be had inexpensively I will restock. Answer: dior homme for sure... Answer: If I happen to see one of my staples at a firesale price I'll get it, even if mine is near full. But I won't start looking for sales until it gets to be about 20% left or so. My Xeryus Rouge is about there now, and so now I'm looking to see if it comes up cheap, especially in Canada. Answer: I have RARELY repurchased a bottle of fragrance - does this make me strange? (One exception I can think of...many years ago I repurchased a 2nd bottle if L'eau d'Issey for Men) I mean, usually when I have a full bottle of something, by the time I make it to the bottom of the bottle I have already moved onto another scent. Maybe I'm just a 'scent ho'? Answer: Originally Posted by mikeperez23 I have RARELY repurchased a bottle of fragrance - does this make me strange? Maybe I'm just a 'scent ho'? No, just adventurous, well, maybe a little bit of a ho'! It's fun to smell different, on different days, you don't always feel the same, so why smell the same. Some people just like to have an identifying scent (signature) like my wicked step mom, she wears the same fragrance for about a decade & MAYBE, she'll change it. When I was young, I used to buy her different scents, but she refused all of them, and gave them back to me. Nasty woman, that she is. So I stopped buying her fragrances, but she did that with most everything that I bought her. Answer: I have only repurchased (i.e. used up then bought another bottle) one scent: Gucci Pour Homme. I have stocked up on a few bottles of scents I thought would be difficult to obtain in the future -- Patou Pour Homme and Stardust for Men, for example. To repurchase, it has to be a 5-star or 4-star scent; at least that's the policy I plan to stick to. I have too many scents to use up as it is. Answer: Because I travel frequently, I almost always have decants of my fab five ready to go. These are topped off from my bottles as needed. When I get down to just the decant and an empty bottle, then it's time to go shopping. That last 10 ml gives me enough time to hunt down a possible bargain. Answer: Not often at all! Not many scents are both, so wearable and good. As much as I like, say, LV Musk, it will literally take some twenty years for me to empty the bottle. I don't wear it often, and it's potent. There are just two scents I can see myself buying again and again, L'Homme de Coeur and Villoresi's Uomo. Both are so wearable, and I never seem to get bored with these two. Answer: I try and keep my fragrance wardrobe to a manageable level. Right now I've got about 25 different fragrances but I'm trying to get down to the 15 to 20 fragrance wardrobe range. So any new fragrances coming in needs to replace an old fragrance going out. The first things I do is evaluate if I want to get a replacement bottle of the same fragrance or a different fragrance. If the fragrance is difficult to come by, I'll get a bottle whenever I can, if it is easy to come buy I'll start looking for a good deal a couple of months before I expect to run out. If I don't run across a good deal, I'll order a new bottle when I've run out of the old bottle. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
