What scent to a funeral? - Page 3
Question:
I, unfortunately, had a friend pass about 6 months ago. I had just bought a bottle of Terre d'Hermes and wore it (lightly) to the ceremony. As ChrisW rightly pointed out, scent associations are powerful and everytime I wear or smell TdH now, I think about my friend. To me, it's a good thing because the scent provokes fond memories. However, be aware that it's likely that whichever frag you choose to wear will always spur that memory. If you think that'll make you sad or uncomfortable, you might avoid wearing anything. On the other hand, it can also be a nice and personal way to memorialize somebody. Sorry to hear of your loss, btw. Answer: I went through this 2 months ago. Wanted something I felt was light and pleasant to me and I thought the departed would have liked. Light sprays only. My choice was Noir Epices by Frederic Malle. IMO avoid something such as Le Male. On me it is way too strong. It is a choice you have to feel comfortable with. And on the light sprays, even if you do not smell it, it is probably enough... be conservative. Answer: I'd vote for nothing, though I wear a scent almost every day. For me funerals are not joyous occasions. Guess I'm weird that way. Answer: just to let you know...i went along with M7 in a minor dosage... i think it was pleasant enough without screaming smell Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
