What scent to a funeral?
Question:
Obviously not the most pleasant topic ever... However what scent do you think is appropriate to pay respects to the departed? Will be a depressing/black clothing affair... From my wardrobe i have... Desire for a Man Alfred Dunhill Visit Azzaro Bulgari Black Bulgari Bulgari pour Homme Extreme Bulgari Weekend for Men Burberry cK one Calvin Klein Dior Homme Christian Dior Fahrenheit Christian Dior Green Irish Tweed Creed Millésime Impérial Creed Beyond Paradise for Men Estée Lauder Pi Givenchy Very Irrésistible for Men Givenchy Envy for Men Gucci Vetiver Guerlain Terre d'Hermès Hermès Boss Selection Hugo Boss L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme Issey Miyake Patou pour Homme Jean Patou Le Mâle Jean Paul Gaultier Michael for Men Michael Kors Black XS Paco Rabanne Romance Silver Men Ralph Lauren A*Men / Angel Men Thierry Mugler The Dreamer Versace M7 Yves Saint Laurent Answer: I would say none. Remembering the life of the departed is one thing, but I don't really want any scent associations with the burial. Usually, fragrance attracts attention, and funerals are not a situation where you want attention drawn to you (could be distasteful or disrespectful). Answer: whatever you would wear that would indicate that you've bathed and groomed yourself and possibly put on a light floral but not much. Answer: My personal feeling is that a funeral is an event to celebrate that person's life, not mourn their death. However, I am one of few in that respect. I wear loud colors, and (now that I own a lot of colognes) something I would think that they would enjoy. If you knew the person, wear something that they would enjoy. Otherwise, wear something that won't startle your fellow mourners (if indeed this is a funeral for mourning). Sorry for your loss though. - Rich Answer: I agree with fredricktoo, something that exudes that you groomed well for celebrating the memory of the departed, respect to the love and estimate you had for him/her. From your list I'd chose one of the following: Bulgari pour Homme Extreme Bulgari Dior Homme Christian Dior Millésime Impérial Creed Vetiver Guerlain Terre d'Hermès Hermès Answer: I'd go with the Vetiver. It has a sombre, understated quality. Very sorry for your loss. Answer: I wouldn't use more than 2 spritzes. In other countries this so different the mind boggles I saw an Indian movie the other night, a realistic try at showing the lower middle class in Mumbai. I'm also reading Vikram Chandra's 'Sacred Games' the fiction takes place mainly in Mumbai. What they take for granted in India is a bit different than the states. But it's a culture that is so much older. I don't know whose funeral it is, family, friend or acquantance so I'll say I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't say it earlier. -------------------------------------- I must have gotten a bad vial of Millésime Impérial Creed because I didn't smell anything I liked but it's supposed to be the bespoke fragrance of the Royal Family Saud. If you asked me to choose honestly I'd skip the Millésime Impérial Creed and go with the Salvador Dali LeRoy Soleil. Millésime Impérial Creed is on my test list I own GIT and Himalaya I'm not obsessive about my list. I think. Answer: forgot to mention it is for my best friends mum Answer: Borrow Chanel No. 5 from your female friends. She would love it! Answer: It's not in your wardrobe but Guerlain Apres L'Ondee is a soulful, reflective piece of work - as fitting as Faure's Requiem. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
