I'd wear Romance Silver by RL, seems more elegant and understated here.

Van Cleef & Arpel pour homme is sombre and rich, in a good way, like the afterlife. ( I Hope)

Answer:
Honestly, I don't think wearing a fragrance is "disrespectful". If you wear one, just go light with it, and not reek & disturb people around you, who might not agree to share in your selection at that moment.

I think a Sandalwood fragrance is appropriate - not Trumper's mind you, except at John Cleese's funeral - but a dignified Mysore Sandalwood.

In Buddhism, sandalwood are considered to be of the Padma (lotus) group and attributed to the Bodhisattva Amitabha. Sandalwood scent is believed to transform one's desires and maintain a person's alertness while in meditation.
Sandalwood, along with agarwood, is the most popular and commonly used incense material by the Chinese and Japanese in worship and various ceremonies. It is also used extensively in Indian incense, religiously or otherwise.
Firekeeping priests, who have maintained sacred fires for centuries, accept sandalwood twigs from Zoroastrian worshippers as their contribution for sustaining the fire."
At the funeral of my grandma last year I wore Villoresis's Sandalo. It helped me cope, especially since I had to deliver the eulogy, which is terribly painful to do for someone you loved dearly.
