Question about Creed Original Vetiver
Question:
Good Evening,
After a long and very impatient wait I finally got my bottle of original vetiver to add to my collection. Now, being a touch obsessive, I am curious about how old it may be. There is a faint 2004 on the back of the box, which I have gathered from other threads may or may not be the date of manufacture.
The lot number is AK1S05. To be honest it smells ok, but I think it's the principle of the thing. Does anyone have any insight as to what these numbers mean. And, lets assume worst case scenario, it actually is from 2004, would this be a big deal or no.
Thank you from a confused new guy !!!

Answer:
Not a big deal at all! I had a bottle of '04 OV & it was great

Answer:
The "Creed date" thing here is one of the most frustrating topics ... if not THE most frustrating. It seems no one really knows what those dates (or codes) mean and I've never really read a good explanation. I still want to know ... if it's really a date ... why my Original Santal, which was released in 2005, had 2003 stamped on the box.

Answer:
The date on the back of the box is when the fragrance was manufactured. The Creed boxes change from year to year. The earlier 2000-2002 boxes don't have the little creed symbols. They also have a concave creed logo on top. The 2003-2004 box have tiny creed symbols all across the box, and has a convex creed symbol up top. The 2005- bottles have bigger little creed symbols all around, they may or may not have the date stamped, they also may not have lot # stamped as well. Also on the newer bottles, on top of the box (the flap you open the box with), it doesn't end with Hongrie, it has an extra line that ends with Russie. And on top of the newer boxes (the flap you open the box with), there should be two big creed symbols which should be convex. I hope that helps ease any uncertainty anyone may have.
By the way, 2004 can be just fine, depending on how it was stored before you recieved it. I have bottles of creed from 2002 that smell the exact same as my 2007 bottles. It just depends on how they were/ are stored.

Answer:
I asked an authorized Creed dealer about the meaning of the lot numbers and their response was that Creed had not explained it to them. They also assume the last two digits indicate the production year but they do not know the meaning of the other numbers.

I have asked this many times to many sales reps and this is what I have been told. Creed sales reps are often times at Neiman Marcus. If you ever have a creed question call the Newport Beach, CA, Neiman Marcus and ask to speak to the "Creed Counter". Ask to speak to a Creed rep and they will answer any questions you have. The number is toll free. It is 800-395-1036.

Answer:
you can check this site here www.creedcollection.com than click recent media coverage and there is one interview about the date of the bottle!!!
James Henry Creed said in the allure interview: take the oldest bottle you can take...when itīs 2006 than take 2002 that is the right bottle.
Creed Millésime is like wine...it has to develop...sorry i canīt find the interview ...it was on this site...
I had the same thinking about this date...til i found the article with James Henry Creed...and when he says that...than itīs ok...
