Any scents that once smelled wow on you, now smell not so good anymore?
Question:
It's all about that body chemistry & through time, things can change, and what was once beautiful to/on you, no longer is for you. Even how your nose perceives a favorite scent, can change. What are some of those lost beauties? Mine, is just about everything I own. Don't ask...

Answer:
Sorry if I have mentioned this one too many times but Montana Parfum de Peau used to smell wow on me many years ago, or so I thought. Nostalgia made me buy some last year but I wouldn't wear it now. The scent seems to have changed, my perception has changed and I guess chemistry plays a part too. Every once in a while I spritz some on when I know I'm not going anywhere because there is some trace of the original connection still there but it really belongs in my memory box not my perfume collection.

It's worked the other way around for me - frags that didn't work, or worked awfully are literally close friends. Two that come to mind immediately are Ma Griffe and Tabu. The first used to be cat's p_ _ s and the second real whore juice. Now both are sublime. Don't know if it's lower estrogen or the B.P. meds but I ain't complainin'!!

Answer:
Unfortunately sometimes itīs because of changed composition :-((

Hate that, but I was more meaning that your own body chemistry has changed or perception of smell has changed, so what you once liked on you doesn't smell the same.

I love CK be and have for the past 10 years. The weird thing is, lately it smells different on me from wearing to wearing. Sometimes it has the whole clean musk thing going & it smells great...other times it turns dull & muted during the drydown. It's always a crapshoot! Luckily it's only about 1 out of 5 wearings that turns muted.

Answer:
I loved Mariella Burani and bought bottles of both it and MB's Eau Rosee.
This winter a musk note came out that makes both unwearable. I really love Eau Rosee, so I'm hanging on to it, hoping things will change, but it's been 9 months so I think they're history.
I got tired of Pomegranate Anise by Fresh this winter, one of my favorite outdoor winter fragrances, and now the anise note irritates me. I don't think I'll be able to wear it anymore.

Answer:
I really really loved D&G's Sicily when it first came out...then it smelled like salty sweaty beach skin...scrumptious....
But now all I can smell is soapy soapy soap...it upsets me...

Answer:
I use to wear florals more than anything and thought I smelled pretty good, but now on me, they just kind of sit there like they don't belong and make me a little queasy. Please don't misunderstand me. I still love florals on others and I raise many roses, so the flowers or synthestic flowers are nice, just not on me. You know like when you wear a certain color that might look great on someone else, but on you it can make you look like you just climbed out of a grave.
