Which frags have worn out their welcome fastest?
Question:
Have you ever bought a fragrance that you thought you liked, only to find that you wished you hadn't been so hasty in your purchase? *What fragrances in your wardrobes have you grown tired of the quickest? For me, it would have to be Pi (Givenchy). *I had heard that this was popular with the ladies, so I sampled it at the mall and loved it! *I bought a bottle the following week and wore it the next day and still loved it. *But the next time I sprayed it on me, it smelled like a cheap vanilla-scented Christmas candle (thanks, SlimPickens, for the accurate description)!! *I gave Pi one more chance and, same thing--YUCK!! *So after only 3 wears, it's now on my swap list. Cool Water Deep is another one that I loved when I first bought it, but traded it after about a week's worth of wears. Answer: Boss Bottled and I had a VERY short fling. It ended badly and we havent spoken since. Answer: Pi (but I'm keep'n it cause the bottle is kewl) Lacoste PH Answer: Yes, and this year it's happened four times running. Although I can't quite recall (with the exception of The Dreamer) which were the offenders, the scenario goes like this: Instant attraction, followed by a second day of day-old instant attraction, followed by an excited purchase. The day after purchase the affair is cemented, but that night you wake up in a cold sweat, perhaps faintly nauseated; one of the notes is playing grim in your mind and vexing you with sudden hideousness. You think you are dreaming. There's a remnant note or two left on your arm. You sniff it and wonder if its nocturnal sillage, even at low wattage, is what is causing the upset. You go wash the gremlin off, and on the way back to bed you pick up the bottle and sniff at the atomizer. You never wear it again. You send it off to a friend who is known to like fill-in-the-blank note (in the case of The Dreamer, tobacco). You never want to see it again, or smell it on anyone else. You are glad your friend lives in the Shetland Islands and not next door. The memory lingers like Limburger. Answer: There are many one night stands I have had. One would be roberto cavalli, I fired it on the first day and got rid of it immediately! I also flirted with pi for one week before I got rid of it. I recieved a complement from a lady at work on it but I didn't care, I am NO vanilla man! Answer: Givenchy Pi. See my previous post on this fragrance! Jim Answer: Oh yeah, the shortest fling was with hugo energize. I sprayed the tester on, bought the bottle, and on the way tothe car it started to turn sickly sweet on me so I went back and returned it! Answer: I was about to say "Burberry Brit" simply because many times when I wear it, the fragrance just plain makes me sick. I thought I would give it one more chance, and just put some on...and wow! I forgot how much I like it. I guess I'll just have to keep it to limited tours of duty, however. A fragrance I used to like is Drakkar Noir, and it was my first scent, but I can't really stand to smell it too much anymore. I don't know what it is about it. Answer: Habit Rouge.... I'm not sure if I like it or not and avoid people that use it, just because I don't want to know. :-[ Answer: D&G. I loved it at first now it makes me gag.
