Question:
I like the note in Polo, Polo Crest and Santos - I think it is Basil. It is always present in the opening and diminishes in the drydown. For some reason I have not brought myself to buy/wear the original Polo. I have a 0.5 ml of Crest and I have sampled Santos. I do like them all. I am wearing Crest right now and it reminds me that this note is also prsent in Azzaro PH. My question is any other "in production" frags out there with this awesome basil note?

All I smell in Polo is camphor....(a nauseating smell to me).
If you like basil, then Manifesto is a good choice of frag. Marketed to women, but really a nice green unisex smell.

You have a good nose marcuccio88. There is definitely basil in Polo, Polo Crest, and Santos de Cartier.
The two fragrances with the most prominent and sustained basil notes I know are Maître Parfumeur et Gantier Baïmé and Miller Harris Citron Citron EDT or EDP. I thoroughly recommend both.
Along the lines of Polo, Polo Crest, and Santos de Cartier where basil features only in a cameo role, I would suggest Dior Eau Sauvage or the discontinued Nino Cerruti Fair Play (if you can get your hands on some.)
You might also want to try Comme des Garçons 3, which has a basil note in there among all the other weird and wonderful concoctions that make up this very interesting fragrance.

Acqua di Parma has a nice basil scent that i have a vial of. i forget the name, but i'm sure "basilico" is part of it. I think it's part of the blu mediteranneo series....

Mark Eau Sauvage has a basil note in it as well.
