I agree Dimples - Gucci edp is really something that stands out among all the departments frags. I wore this when it first was launched, but moved on to
lighter, fresher scents when I started to work full time as a nurse.
(Eau Svelte and 4711 are very suitable scents when you work with sick people btw; I used it both on myself and the patients).
A friend of mine stopped by this evening for a glass of wine; " Mmmm....you smell good, what are you wearing...? ". So; apparently Gucci edp. has staying power and sillage.
I am not used to describe perfume; and can't pick out the different notes; but I don't find Gucci spicy; nor floral;...to me it smells like..hm...like a womans expensive handbag filled with golden coins...accidently smeared with lipstick .
This is definetely going to be a staple perfume for me now.

Today I am a whore at the brothel de Lutens. I happened to wander into Fenwicks whilst out shopping with a friend and saw they had Lutens. I got a bit excited and ran amok. I tried Gris Clair (subtle and dry), Bois de Vanille (sweet and pleasant - the coconut stood out on me. Nice but not outstanding), Fumerie Turque (I expected this to smell a lot more like tobacco but it was actually quite sweet and pleasant. Will need to revisit this one later when I have fewer scents applied), Chypre Rouge (wow - very very strange but somehow compelling! Will revisit this in the future) and Ambre Sultan (oh...my...god. I had to have this. And have it I did!)
I know I'm going to be buying more Lutens in the future. I blame you guys! I'd never even have heard of Lutens if it wasn't for this site!
