Creed Virgin Island Water - First Review - Page 3
Question:
This one's going on my to test list. My wife's intrigued by the notes as well. Answer: For the reasons I posted about earlier, I have been doing a side-by-side comparison to Marc Jacobs....longevity-wise, I am getting decent but not stellar length (e.g. five hours) out of both. Comparing them in this way, it is easy to pick out the lime and other citrus that is in Virgin Island Water and not in Marc Jacobs, although both are defined by their coconut. Honestly, I think I might prefer the Marc Jacobs drydown although I am not sure at this point as the Creed is more complex and varied. Either way, this type of comparison is proving to me that I will only need one of these frags, and as wonderful as Virgin Island Water is, I have almost a full 4 oz. of Marc Jacobs right now. Answer: I really want to sample this, when I get the chance... Answer: Marc Jacobs just turns rancid on me. Smelled great on the test strip, but not so much on my skin. I hope this Creed works out better. Just 18.6 pounds to go... Answer: I find this quite a clever scent. It's undoubtedly tropical - all coconuts and lime - but manages to avoid being sweet and oily like so many other 'beach' scents. It's as if Creed decided to have a go at Fun, but managed to keep their Serious Parfumerie credentials intact while doing it. I look forward to trying this in hot weather;this seems to me to be one to wear in a heatwave, rather than a Memory of Summer to warm you up in a cold winter. Do you get any white rum in VIW ? From what I recall, I got lots of fig with some coconut in Marc Jacobs. Answer: Originally Posted by zztopp Do you get any white rum in VIW ? Outside of the coconut, I mainly get citrus, kind of a hazy lime not unlike the Royall Lyme on its (brief) drydown, although that is surely selling VIW short, as there is more going on in there than that. The lime is not tart or sharp, it is blended very well. Unfortunately, I have now used up my sample in its entirety, and I am really wanting to smell it some more! Answer: I love the sound of this scent! It sounds so amazing any idea how much this is going to cost and where I can get a sample vial? Its very coconutty/figgy, fresh and interestingish I suppose. Kinda light and some may think a touch girly me thinks. Answer: was it available to buy? did they mention a release date? are there samples in other stores? cheers. By the way - don't think I will like it, not a fan of coconut, but I am a bit irritated by the rubbish I have been told by creed reps, and importers lately.
