Creed Virgin Island Water - First Review
Question:
Aromascope is the first to review this new Creed. Looks like the father-son duo have a created the summer sensation of the year ! http://www.aromascope.com/wp/2007/02...ater-by-creed/ I am most curious about the way they have weaved the coconut note in this one - coconut can at times be a tricky note for me in perfume. Its also being favorably received by POL members - I hope Basenoters get to try this soon ! Answer: Mine came in today and I'm testing on the back of my hand.... LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Answer: does anyone know if its currently available to test in the Neiman Marcus stores? I know Original Santal was available to smell and pre-order before the bottles actually hit the shelf. If so, I'll be on my way there right away. Answer: I got a call from my "personal SA" at Neiman's fragrance counter telling me it's in and I should come and sniff it (and, of course, buy it!)... Answer: When I first wore this fragrance a few months ago I placed a little review similar to what follows - and several people have asked for my impressions since last thursday. Therefore, here's a small piece I wrote for another member yesterday: Virgin Island Water is quite a fine spring/summer fragrance if you ask me - opens rather fresh and citrussy clear, then mellows down into a more floral base with a very distinct coconut note. Coconut is also what people around me have detected, and it seems that you have to like that in order to enjoy this scent. Personally, I think it works quite well. I feel that this is definitely reminiscent of a tropical island - lying down in the silky sand, surrounded by nothing but the ocean and the forest behind the shoreline, drinking cocktails from a coconut. I know that the review zztopp posted here is very similar to this piece - however, I wrote about exactly the same thing a few months ago. I guess that reviewer and I had really similar feelings about this. Answer: Thanks, BrothaG! Wasn't aware that you had previously reviewed this new Creed. I'm sure we'll get a lot more reviews now that it's becoming more readily available. BTW, how rare is it to find coconut in a fragrance? Are there others that use coconut as a primary note? Answer: For some reason I get alot of coconut in Paul Smtith - London. Answer: I smelled this for the first time just yesterday at the Neiman Marcus store in Friendship Heights (Washington, DC metro area). I didn't want to apply over the top of either the Vetiver Extreme or Vetiver Sport that I was trying, so I just smelled on a test strip. Coconut, as was mentioned, is a major note in this scent, and the first note that I recognized. There were other fruity notes in this one, and the overall effect was very tropical, I guess. However, the juxtaposition of this scent and the fact that I live in the wild west of South Dakota lessens the likelihood that this new scent will find its way into my collection. Answer: Frederic Malle Carnal Flower is a recent fragrance which uses the coconut note very effectively. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
