Too young for Guerlain Vetiver - Page 2
Question:
VETIVER is a classic scent.. Required taste im afraid.. My ex hated it and she was 26.. The fact is.. the younger generation have had their noses rubbished with too many acqua scents and not enough manly fragrances!!! I personally don't quite know what to make of Vetiver myself. for all the adoration for vetiver in this forum, im feeling kinda left out hehehe... which made me wonder... if Vetiver appropiate for a younger audience? Wierd. Vetiver seems to be the youngest Guerlain scent to me (except Petit Guerlain ) It's very subtle, so I really see no reason for anyone to dislike it that much Answer: Originally Posted by yonggoh Just wondering what are members thoughts on this? Answer: One is never too young for Guerlain's Vetiver. Don't forget that it was created when Jean-Paul was in his twenties. I think it boils down to a matter of taste. Vetiver - especially when mixed with tobacco - is not a popular fragrance choice among the young. Fresh, clean with lots of aquatic and white musk notes are the scents in favour at the moment. Woman have commented that this fragrance smelled delicious on me, even when I was young and it was a relatively new scent. I have worn this fragrance for the last forty years. Answer: I bought Vetiver blind, and with the exception of a very soapy presence in the thing, I enjoyed it well enough...however it is overpowerlingly strong and I think that turns off younger crowds. I had my bottle delivered to my workplace and asked a few younger female co-workers what they thought of it and it received universal winces and "old man" cracks. I attribute that to its strength and the soapy vibe it has. Answer: Try vetiver Sport? I liked it (I'm 24) and my 25yo GF liked it too. She said it smelled like a meadow. I'll probably be picking up a bottle in springtime. Answer: I just went to my local fragrance shop here in Memphis. It carries some gems that are my little secrets. I tried the vintage (before 1999) Vetiver - Guerlain. Let me tell you...to my nose...the old one is much richer, with less stinging citrus at the top. I like this version but didn't tolerate the new version very well. The old juice is just better!!! 34.90 for a 3.4 ounce tester..hmmm..I am mulling it over now. barry Answer: Originally Posted by radix023 Do your health stores have essential oils? She might just not like the earthy tone of it, period, so she wouldn't like many vetivers. Tobacco is also a hard scent for many to appreciate...particularly on the youger crowd. Maybe try CdG Vettiveru. It's probably the easiest vetiver for the uninitiated to "get". I'm 22. I've never felt out of like wearing the Guerlain, and i've never had any adverse comments on it. The only scent i've seriously felt odd wearing was MPG Santal Noble, but I still like it and wear it around the house. Answer: I'm 18 and wear Vetiver often, but it's generally with outdoor outfits and not in classy situations. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
