Terre D'hermes drydown smells like marijuana
Question:
OK, I love Terre D'Hermes - I remember calling it the best fragrance of 2006 in a post last year... But last night, when I got home from work, after wearing Terre D'hermes all day, my partner mentioned that I smelled like pot (I haven't smoked for years...) and when I made him smell my body, he confirmed that it was my scent... Anybody else have this skin chemistry thing going on in the drydown of TdH? Am I the only freak? p.s. - Comme de Garcons Guerilla 2 DOES SMELL LIKE POT - at the beginning, the middle & the end...you've been warned. Answer: Originally Posted by mikeperez23 My partner mentioned that I smelled like pot (I haven't smoked for years...) LOL...so you have smoked the stuff before , right? Answer: on me i just get bug spray. i'd probably like it more if it smelled like pot on me Answer: Maybe that explains my love of stoner rock. BTW the new Fu Manchu EP shreds. Answer: smells like marijuana. hmmm smoked marijuana? buds? leaves? shwag? hydroponic which when it it grows stinks up the whole neighborhood? skunk?! boing Answer: Dried marijuana buds & leaves - to be more specific Answer: Aha! That explains it! My dad must have been wearing this stuff for years! Answer: The marijuana connection hadn't occured to me, but now that you mention it I can detect a slight resemblance. On me the drydown smells just like the basenotes in the pyramid, mainly cedar with a bit of vetiver, with just a hint of faintly sweet benzoin. But there is a slightly sharp, resinous smell there also, which may or may not be part of the cedar component. I wonder if it is against the law to use cannabis oil in perfumes. That rich, pungent aroma certainly would be an interesting component in men's fragrances ;-) noggs Answer: Well...that is better than smelling like pee...or burning rubber mixed with hay... Hemp oil is not uncommon, and it's in plenty of cosmetic products. As for fragrances, I can think of two featuring a cannabis note (not sure if they use cannabis oil or not): Absolument Absinthe and Cannabis Santal. Never smelled either one. Living in Santa Cruz, California, I smell plenty of the real thing, although I'm not a partaker myself... -------------------------------------- Addendum: searching for "hemp" as a note in the basenotes directory brings up FCUK Him (French Connection) and L'Eau Argentine (Iunx). Does anyone think these have a "pot" smell? Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
