Costes, incense, and the backs of my wrists
Question:
I seem to have missed any discussions of Costes on this board, and I'm curious as to other's experiences with it. At this moment, I'm wearing this fragrance, still hoping I may fall in love with it. Previously, I'd applied it near the pulse (wrist), and although it was perfectly pleasant, five hours later I could not have told you how it smelled. This time, however, I applied it to the back of my wrist about 10 minutes ago, and I'm getting serious incense, with a bit of cinnamon in the background. A bit of butter is emerging, too. Definitely not forgettable, though a bit sweet for my taste. The odd thing to me is that not only does it smell like incense, it is creating that slight dryness of the nose and throat that I experince when I smell actual incense. But my god, it's fading FAST... no longevity here at ALL. Answer: You are right, the very spicy opening doesn't last long, but what later remains is such a beautiful clean rose that I can live with it. Haven't bought my bottle yet, but I've ment to every single winter month. Next one maybe Answer: I adore Costes - which, as you said, has gotten only an occasional mention (on SotD) here in the five months I've been on board. You've probably already read - but here ar the BN Directory notes:
FBW!! I dab freely on my inner wrists and bosoms and behind ears and just a smudge under the nose. Longevity is pretty good for me that way - surprising, 'cause I have problems with longevity. Let's form a club!! Answer: I'll have to try Costes. I absolutely love 10 Corso Como, and the perfume sites always link the two as very similar -- woods and incense with a wonderfully piquant opening -- is it a coincidence that I have very similar longevity issues with 10CC? Answer: I enjoyed Costes the couple times I tried it. However there was something about it that made me question even thinking about getting a bottle (not just price- LOL!) I think it may be a little too demure for me- it is smooth and incensy and the lavender note is nice in it, however there is just something about it that keeps it from being "fantastic." In order to justify a bottle, I need "fantastic." Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
