Are there any Bond No. 9 common associations?
Question:
To clarify: Non-Bond scents that smell like Bond scents. Thanks in advance for all help given.... Answer: As in fragrance A smells like fragrance B? New Haarlem / Rochas Rochas Man Hamptons / Creed Silver Mountain Water Chez Bond / Creed Green Irish Tweed Answer: Yeah, exactly like that...thank you. Answer: This is still pretty unclear...do you mean do any Bond scents smell like any non Bond scents? Because there are PLENTY of those. In fact I'd say the house in semi-known for it. ...or do you mean is there a common theme between all the bond scents? ie a house note. I don't know about that. I'd suggest editing the original post to be more clear. You'd get more responses that way. Answer: Bleecker Street = a sweetened up RL Purple Label Answer: Why does every Bond no. 9 thread has to be on "associations" ? I thought we were past that. Why not discuss their fragrances or upcoming releases ? Answer: Originally Posted by zztopp Why does every Bond no. 9 thread has to be on "associations" ? I thought we were past that. Why not discuss their fragrances or upcoming releases ? The reason this particular thread is about associations is because that's the specific information I was asking for help with. Just curious...why were you compelled to criticize my request? If for some reason you're not motivated to help why not remain silent? If you are personally interested in learning more about upcoming releases, or any other thing maybe YOU should start a new thread... If you (we?) are "past that" I'm really happy for ya. It so happens that I'm not yet past that. Perhaps with the help of some kind BN'ers I can get past that. In the meantime maybe you should keep your criticisms to yourself pal. Thank you to all who provided meaningful feedback! Thank you to all who provided meaningful feedback! Such threads have in the past lead to "bond no.9" house bashing, whether intentional or not. I would have liked to share my experience with various bond no. 9 frags, but I realise that this thread is not the place to do it. Good luck ! Answer: Rochas Man Extreme - New Haarlem Silver Mountain Water - Hamptons Green Irish Tweed - Chez Bond Eau d'Hadrien - Eau de New York Givenchy Gentleman - H.O.T. Always ...... I ask you why criticize the topic of the post...you reply: "Such threads have in the past lead to "bond no.9" house bashing, whether intentional or not." Nice try, but no sale. Your first reply "reads" 'we were past Bond association threads'. You then suggest that Bond fragrance or upcoming release threads are more suitable (to you). So if I'm following your logic correctly, association threads run a high risk (in your opinion) of morphing into house bashing, but threads about fragrances and new releases do not? Apparently you sometimes choose to participate in association/comparison/similarity threads - momentarily setting aside your passion to help make the world a better place by ridding it of "house bashing"... Your recent post: "Re: Creed Virgin Island Water - First Review -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep the similarities coming! So far VIW has been compared to: Marc Jacobs Miami Glow Aqua Motu A month ago you seemed to be bashing Creed: Re: Right place and right time............creed! You are kidding about the prices right ? I mean how much more can Creed charge ? The retail asking price is already a sky high $208 for 4 Oz. bottles ($185 for 2.5 Oz.) !! Spread the good word... I especially liked this post of yours in January: Re: Creed's similar fragances -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The most common associations are : Green Irish Tweed = Cool Water Himalaya = XS pour homme Original Vetiver = Mugler Cologne Millesime Imperiale = Unforgivable Bois Du Portugaul = Perfums De Nicolai New York Silver Mountain Water = CK One Your initial reply is seen by all for what it is - a critical statement about the topic of a thread. Your inability to be honest about things when confronted, instead back pedalling into a ridiculous explanation is a character flaw. Good luck with that...
