5. How many sprays you put on- about 15 from a short distance then 5 misters

8. do you use body oils, which, and where do you apply- I use a patented blend of 6 different oils and I put them everywhere. And I mean EVERYwhere.
I don't know why you're so into knowing what scents gets compliments. I have just as much success with women when I don't get a compliment as when I do. However, if it is compliments you're after, I would wear a small amount of whatever the SA at your local Macy's tells you is popular. If you want to be a baller then wear 25 sprays of Geir.

I have received compliments on over half the fragrances I have owned and currently own. I'm just fortunate to have met several individuals who have impeccable taste smiliar to mine. In my experience, it's the person wearing the fragrance, not the fragrance, that garners the most attention and compliments.

Most complimented for me are Creed GIT, YSL Rive Gauche and Body Kouros and Terre d'Hermes. The answers to yuor questions are roughly the same for most compliments, so here they are:

Exactly why we shouldn't ask silly questions like this.
I'm someone who gets a decent amount of compliments, yet I've never gotten one for any of the scents that Ged has gotten them for. And I've worn them enough times that I should have definately gotten some compliments.
So how does this correspond to our lives? Who knows. Maybe I'm a loser and Ged has a smokin' hot wife. Maybe the babes can't keep their hands off of me and Ged lives in his parent's basement. Most likely is that me and Ged are both somewhere between those extremes and that our positions have NOTHING to do with the compliments we recieve on cologne.
If you want to keep making posts about compliments and whatnot, no one is going to stop you. I should tell you though that this board is for people who want to talk about cologne. As you may have seen people this stuff can get pretty deep. People tend not to like this shallower discussion. Besides, if you type in the word "compliment" in the directory search function, you will find all of the answers you need. Hell, you might even dig up a thread about compliments by me from when I was a youngin'. If you don't actually care about cologne but just want to know which ones girls will compliment, you are definately best off using the aforementioned search function because you are far more likely to find results there from before the boards began to get flooded with such questions than you are now as people are sick of such questions.

Fair point! Within the group, we won't always get compliments on the same frags. Within individuals, we don't necessarily get them for our personal favourites frags, or from the desired people!
For example, I'd be stoked to get a compliment on Givenchy Gentleman, Guerlain Heritage or Derby, or Caron PuH, frags I love but I suppose may seem stuffy to others. I'd really be impressed if someone gave me a compliment on those, like wow, you have good taste!
The ones I've listed above, while I like them, are clearly "crowd pleasers".
And many of the compliments are not exactly from hot babes....except my wife ;-) but she likes most of my frags anyway.

I often get compliments on Creed's Bois du Portugal, The Dreamer by Versace, Le Baiser du Dragon by Cartier, Geir Ness, just about every Bvlgari fragrance, and Eau d'Orange Verte and Hiris by Hermes.
I spray a lot on, and it depends on the scent and its concentration, of course. But I don't ever go "easy" on my application. Because the way I see it - I could go heavy on the application for the rest of my life and still not use up all of the scent that I own.

Sadly, everyone in my circle of influence suffers from anosmia! The earth literally shakes when I get a compliment on a scent that I'm wearing, which around these parts is every couple of hundred years!

I've been complimented a grand total of twice since I entered the world of fragrances as an adolescent. The colognes getting those compliments were ck be and chaps ralph lauren. The ck be compliment was from a middle aged woman and the chaps compliment was from a coworker in her late twenties. Both frags were applied with a light hand and the other person was within a few feet.
