what about weekend - Page 2
Question:
Thanks all...maybe I'll sample this weekend......I know,I know not funny. Answer: Personally, I love many department store fragrances... I just don't happen to like weekend. (shrug) This doesn't make me a fragrance "snob", this just means I dislike Burberry Weekend. There are many niche frags and other highly regarded frags I would not hesitate to pan. I see the point you are making and I agree completely that discounting 'any' fragrance before trying it, is not entirely fair (infact I started an entire thread on that exact dynamic) but in my case, I owned weekend and truly disliked it. Furthermore, I truly believe that there are much better options for fragrance of this sort. Secondly, even though I gravitate towards oriental and classic fragrances doesn't mean that I can't turn a fairly unbiased nose to a fresh frag. That's essentially like saying that a movie critic that prefers comedies can't adequately and effectively review action flicks. I mean, I love heavy, woods/herbs fragrances but I also have a fondness for frags like Bigarrade Concentree, L'eau Par Kenzo. Discounting someones opinion based on their wardrobe, is.. in itself a form of snobbism. (which essentially you mentioned trying to minimize) This post isn't meant in a confrontational way. I'm simply trying to present another side to the argument. a. Answer: I used to like Weekend. But it suddenly started smelling different on me for some reason. I gave the rest of my bottle away to a friend. Now, I really like L'eau D'Issey. To me it fills the same gap in my wardrobe that Weekend did. Answer: I go back and forth on Weekend. When I first bought it I loved it but now I can't really wear it anymore. I'm sure eventually I'll love it again. Answer: I hate hate HATE weekend. Seriously, it's one of the few scents I truly despise. Try Brit instead, although, I really wish it lasted longer. Answer: Originally Posted by Redcomet I hate hate HATE weekend. Answer: Originally Posted by gimpy Seconded, it's chemically and headache inducing for me. Yeah, I remembering it gave me a headache whenever I wore it. I did get one compliment on it, but I just don't like it. Answer: thread bump. there's a lot of hate on the board for this one. I just bought this from Maxx blindly, in my haste I thought it was Burberry London (lol). It started out smelling like my Grandmother's bathroom (lavender soap?) and I disliked it at first because of the association. But the drydown is comforting to me. I'm hoping that over repeated use I can appreciate this one, considering I just bought a whole damn bottle of it! Seems like a casual jeans and Tshirt scent. Nothing sticks out to make it have a personality really. anyone else have any renewed thoughts about this scent? Answer: I dislike most of the Burberry fragrances (Brit, London, blah, blah) - but I like Weekend. However, I don't like it enough to own it. Not sure what that means...but when I find out, I'll let you know Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
