Frederic Malle sent me a present - Page 2
Question:
I like and own both these Malles. They didn't pick them for me. Therese beautiful soft leather chypre, very classic. Noir reminds me of Magie Noir. When asked about my fashion tastes, I merely replied that I was somewhat eclectic, which is a bit of a euphemism, what the hell, since my clothing $$ are pretty much spent on scent. Answer: I tried Le Parfum de Therese but it doesn't work on me (didn't get it as one of their recommendations though - I was recommended L'Eau d'Hiver and later bought a FB - it's gorgeous). Answer: Noir Epices sounds the most appetising to me - let me know what you think! I've just done the quiz myself. Maybe I'll have some luck too. Answer: Just finished the quiz.Hope I'm "chosen" -------------------------------------- Got an e-mail today, and it seems they wanna send me a sample of Musc Ravangeur.... Answer: Thank you to the very helpful staff at Frederic Malle, Helene and Tiphaine! I did the test on the Frederic Malle website a couple of weeks ago and today I received two samples from them of the scents they recommended for me, L'eau d'hiver and En Passant. I had described two scents for the test: one to be seductive, the other to encapsulate a sense of freedom - something which is very important to me. L'eau d'hiver works for both purposes with soft, honeyed notes which are so pure and uncluttered. Bulgari Pour Femme has a similar kind of sweetness on my skin, although not as delicate. En Passant is the first scent I have ever loved the top notes of !!! I am not very clear on describing them but I think I get lilac straight away. There is a freshness and clarity to En Passant which, to me, makes it perfect for wearing outdoors: I am thinking spring/summer walking in the countryside on a dry, sunny day. I adore the lilac and wheat notes in En Passant! Both fragrances are beautiful pure scents. L'eau d'hiver has better lasting power on my skin but I think I love them both just now. Am still curious about Lipstick Rose. Can anyone suggest whether or not they think I would like this one based on my wardrobe and what I have posted here? Answer: Hi, I'm new and have been lurking while I'm learning about fragrances. I don't yet feel qualified to offer technical reviews but I also received samples today and am very excited. I filled out the questionnaire on 2/6 and today Une Rose and Noir Epices arrived. I was thrilled they picked Une Rose for me because finding the perfect rose scent is what led me to BN. I'm not sure this is it. I loved it straight out of the bottle, that heady rose is what I'm looking for but almost immediately the earthiness kicked in. I wasn't crazy about that but I didn't hate it either. 7hrs. later it's down to a nice, light rose scent. I'm not sure that I would buy it. My search for the perfect rose will continue, starting with my rose sampler pack which Dragonfly Scent Me mailed out today I love Noir Epices. It's a little more masculine than I generally wear but it works well with my chemistry. I've been having trouble with things turning very sweet on me and this one doesn't. This is one I would consider buying but Coco edp is still my favorite for this type of fragrance. Overall, I'm very happy with what I received and the wonderful customer service at Frederic Malle. Thanks Tiphaine! Answer: I answered their quiz too and all I got was an email asking me to request for samples from Barneys New York. Answer: I did the quiz, not knowing I would receive samples of Carnal Flower and Noir Epices. I just received tem today, it took one month. I'm very excited. My first impression is I like Noir Epices better, Carnal Flower, which I want to love, reminds me of something my mother used to wear 30 years ago, very much gardenia flower smelling, nice though.
