I am still very ignorant when it comes to the world of perfume.

Answer:
Someone else but me will have to explain dekant to you, I´m afraid!
I write to tell you thar Prada is the stongest of the orientals that I deeply love. Prada can be what you are looking for. There are other orientals I really like, too, but they are more gentle, so I will not suggest them to you.
There are the same strong orientals, and even stronger, but they are not as beautiful as Prada, at least on my skin. So hold on to your sample of Prada until you make your choise!
And, please, let us know what oriental it finally will be!

Answer:
Margareta,
I definitely will because this hunt is so much fun and exiciting.
In any case, it is possible that I may have found what I was looking for sooner than I thought. You are right, Prada is quite amazing.
I have reported on it all day - and now, that it is 2:30 afternoon I have to announce with pride that it is still recognizably and beautifully THERE after I applied it at 7:30 in the morning. And believe me, that's a big deal to me as I have been known to complain about "barely smelling anything" even 1 hour after applying Samsara Perfume (not EdP!) - which some people say lasts an eternity.
My question is:
Is Prada Intense a stronger version of Prada?
I may want to give that one a try too.

Answer:
Oh so many to try! Here are some I recommend:

Gourmand:
Bulgari BLV Notte
Rochas Tocade
Bond No. 9 Nuits de Noho
Frédéric Malle Musc Ravageur
Serge Lutens Chergui
Kick-ass Orientals:
Chanel Bois des Iles
Chanel Coco
Chanel Allure
Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon
Frédéric Malle L'eau d'hiver
Tom Ford Black Orchid
Hermès Eau des Merveilles

Answer:
syracusa,

decant = a small amount of perfume which is larger than a sample (1ml - 3ml) which is 'decanted' (like wine) from a full size bottle. A decant can be of any strength of perfume / cologne. Decants average 2 - 20 applications (based on normal 5ml decant size), depending on strength of perfume, heaviness and frequency of application. A decant enables you to experience a perfume fully without having to commit to the purchase of a full size bottle.

Decants can be a very economical alternative to full size bottles if you intend to have a large collection. This definitely applys to larger decants which come in 7ml, 8ml, 10ml or rare 15ml sizes. Decants can be purchased online from sellers on eB@y marketplace, both domestic and internationally. They can also be purchased or swapped for in the great Basenotes Marketplace forums.

Decants are usually filled and hand labelled by the seller just prior to postage, to ensure freshness. Sellers use wholesale purchased bottles ranging from plastic or glass splash bottles, roll-on or atomisers.

Answer:
I ve tried everything and found Musc Ravageur, Cedre and Bois et Musc were the best orientals, distinguished, you don 't smell them everywhere, perfect discreet sillage, highly wearable and I never get bored with them, it 's always magical and a pleasure to wear them.

Answer:
May I suggest:

Fendi Donna - leather chypre oriental
Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan - luscious amber oriental with sillage for days (make sure to get the EDP)
Vivienne Westwood Boudior - Sexy, Floriental. Will last for days with uber sillage. I have to decant mine from the bottle and can only use a few drops at a time.
Dior Poison Esprit de Parfum - almost a different perfume to the widely abused EDT. Rich, smoky, imperial. This scent reminds me of russian tsars.
Estee Lauder Youth Dew - EDP is very potent but longevity is insured by layering the EDP or parfum with a drop of the bath oil used as a base. There is also a whole body care range (soap, body cream, powder) that you can get to layer with the perfumes.
Dana Tabu - true classic oriental. So potent it is usually only found in Cologne or Eau de Toilette strength. I have heard that parfum strength is available, which may be the best option for you. If you find it please let me know where you got it as I wish to get some too.
Must de Cartier - parfum only. This will probably remind you of Calvin Klein Obsession parfum at first but this is much richer, complex, luxe, resinous, sophisticated and down right expensive / exclusive smelling then that! It has a similar impact and potency as Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan (they are both rich amber orientals) but again Must is more sophisticated / urbane then Ambre (less avante garde).
Givenchy Ysatis - this is a phenomenal hybrid (floral, animalic, chypre, oriental) with a distinctives sillage that on the right chemistry mellows into the sexiest, voluptuous aura of complete femininity! Luckily, this works for me and I always receive compliments - even when I am no longer aware of it.
Guerlain Shalimar - parfum only. Rich, smoky, incensy, lush exotica that surrounds you in an aura of languid oriental sensuality. I noted you said you had tried this previously. Was it the EDP / parfum strength? EDT is much more sharp and citrussy . The EDT is a poor representation of the depth, smoothness and complexity of the parfum.
Moschino by Moschino - A delicious, potent rose / musk / amber dominated oriental. Very sexy, sensuous with bushel loads of sillage. Wearing it is a sensation close to being naked under a full length mink!
Lagerfeld KL - this little know beauty smells like the lovechild of Dana Tabu + YSL Opium pour femme - but happens to have the best of both of them.
Guerlain L'Heure Bleue - parfum only. Deep fascinating melancholy floral oriental. Classicly rich, sophisticated and feminine. Sillage for days!

...

I may add more as I recall them. Good Luck & Happy Sniffing!

Answer:
Thank you again for your explanations and suggestions.
I would have to check one more time to make sure I got this right:
is sillage the extent to which the perfume expands around you and creates an aura? If one says that a perfume has high sillage does it mean the opposite would be a perfume that stays close to the skin?
I have noticed that some perfumes, though strong, potent and relatively long lasting, do not form that aura around you and always stay close to the skin. An example for me was Bond 9 Chinatown.
It lasted a long time and struck me as potent in the begining, but I had to get close to the wrist every time to smell it. I did not feel it all around me.
Other perfumes, that may not smell as strong at first, create a major aura around you and leave that unforgettable smell behind.
An example would be Prada (for me, of course).
Is this what sillage is about?
In this case, I want all the sillage I can get ...because there's nothing that bothers me more than to spend fortunes on expensive perfume only to have to burry my own nose into my wrists to check whether the scent is still there. Let alone hope that others might be able to figure out that I am wearing something...
So those with lots and lots of sillage - keep them coming! Thanks so much.

Answer:
I would recommend:
Le Baiser du Dragon, already mentioned but bears repeating. Mad sillage and drives the men wild.
Dior Addict, a stand-out vanilla-based fragrance with a wicked green note that weaves in and out, keeping it a little edgy.
SL Ambre Sultan, again, already mentioned, but this is such a kick-ass amber scent I have to say it again. On me, this is the most long-lasting of the three. Someone described it as "sex in a bottle" and yeppers, that pretty much says it all!

Answer:
I would second and third Le Baiser du Dragon. There is also a hair-mist in this
scent as well, if you want the full works!
Roma by Laura Biagiotti is a fresh, citrus/balsam type oriental with a great
smell.
You may like to try Cristobal (Balenciaga) as it is my people-pleaser scent and lasts quite a long time on my dry skin.
