frederic malle toronto
Question:
Can anyone help a fellow find any of the frederic malle line in toronto? Any help is reatly appreciated Answer: You're out of luck with finding a location purchase...I've ordered several things from their website though which arrived promptly and safely. Do you know what you want or where you looking to sample first? Answer: I second Frederick Malle’s excellent mail order service. However, if you are interested, their closest physical counter is at Barney’s New York City. Answer: There's actually a new Barneys in Boston that is even closer to T.O I feel for you...I'm a Canadian living in the States now. It's so hard for us Canadians to get access to some of these great perfumes. However with many companies offering sample programs and online purchasing-it's not too bad, as long as you're willing to fork over the money. My experience is that anything over $200 Cdn will land you a hefty customs bill! Answer: I've ordered a few things from some of the stores in Paris directly, ie Frederic Malle and The Different Company, and never received an invoice for duties owing. When I ordered a Different Company bottle from Luckyscent in LA, I was charge over $30 for duties. I think I'll stick with ordering from Europe! Answer: I do wonder how this duty thing works -it's very inconsistent....sometimes I got taxed, sometimes I didn't...you think they randomly pick packages?? Good luck! and cross your fingers. Answer: And have you ever checked how much freight and shipping these outfits in the States charge? Shipping from Europe cost a lot less and they seem to know the "right" value to declare so as not to attract any custom duties. Answer: Wow, thanks for the quick and informative replies. I really appreciate it. Answer: This is great information. I just started ordering to ship to Canada and I'm purposely separating my order. I rather pay extra shipping rather than extra duties. So far, it's worked. Shippers know what to put to not attract customs officer's attention. Either that or I've been lucky. Are you sure the amount is $200? I thought it was $20? I've purchased other stuff, DVDs and such and always have had to pay through the nose. We're over-taxed up here, for sure. Answer: Buying Perfumes in Canada isn't actually that bad and I'm not complaining at all. We have any amazing selection where I live, and I'd rather be here then anywhere in the states. Have u guys heard of Holt Renfrew, the luxury department store chain in Canada. They have many locations in Canada, and they carry Art of Shaving Sandalwood, Clean for Men, The Hermes Line, The Armani Prive Collection, Creed, Jo Malone, Dior Homme Trio: Cologne Blanche, Eau Noire & Bois D'Argent and a ton of other great stuff. You can also go the the individual designer boutiques to check out the Chanels and Hermes scents. For niche, I go here: www.theperfumeshoppe.com They also ship anywhere in Canada at a decent price, but there stuff cost full retail, maybe you guys looking for discounts? They have a ton of niche label: LV, MPG, L'artisan, SL, Montale Aouds...also their Montale Aouds are way cheaper, 170 CAN for the 100mls, aedes in the US sells them for 210 US on their site. You can also test and buy CDG in Ontario, there's one shop that I've heard of, no need for Luckyscent. Honestly, I'm kinda busy right now but I could go on & on and I'm fairly happy with the selection locally that I have. You guys just need to go around and do some searching. The Bay downtown even has some of export Serge Lutens scents. Also, there's a ton of discount designer stores here. Also, when it comes to shipping, as long as you check mark gift, put a value of 20 bucks or less, and write cosmetics, you're fine. I know it's a lie, but customs doesn't check all the packages due to the high volume of stuff coming in. I've received SL MKK from Europe with no Duty. As for Frederic Malle, if you haven't tried their scents and you wish to, do their online quiz from their official site. They'll then send you some nice 5ml samples sprays. To buy...a little more difficult, Barney's across the boarder, and I've spoken to the owner of Theperfumeshoppe last time and she said she might have plans to bringing the Frederic Malle line into her shop, or Holts might do that in the near future.
