Recommend a light, aetherial floral.
Question:
Someone suggested on the forum that it can be interesting to wear a fragrance that is the opposite of your personalty. I'm tall, dark, given to brooding (when I'm not being silly). I always wear black and sometimes a silver skull ring.
I thought a light, unsweetened floral, something that evokes "white," or angels or something, might be an amusing contrast. Any suggestions?

Answer:
I don't know about white, but two light and breezey florale I like are L'Artisan Mimosa pour Moi sort of pale yellow to me, and Jo Malone Verveine, which is pale green to me. Or maybe a linden note? Jo Malone has a Tilleule or white linden I think its called? It is pale and reminds me of pollen floating in the air that could be the antitesis to your skulls without being so far different that you would never wear it. definitely not sweet.

Answer:
Male or Female scent?

First thoughts are for sharp, clean aldehydic florals.

May I suggest:

Cerruti 1881 pour elle
Houbigant Essence Rare
Caron Fleurs de Rocaille
Ivoire de Balmain
Estee Lauder White Linen
Estee Lauder Beautiful
TBS Japanese Musk
Hermes Hiris

Answer:
I second the White Linen by Estee Lauder recommendation (and NOT the new Pure White Linen), the ORIGINAL White Linen preferably the perfume strength.

Answer:
I second Moondeva's suggestion of Hiris. Annick Goutal's Eau du Ciel also sprang to mind, although that might be a tad too sweet? Sometimes I get a honey-like note. But it is ethereal to me, and smells like summer. I'm having trouble with the non-sweet part.
Have you ever tried Egyptian Musk oil? I have the one from Body Time (company in San Francisco) and I find this to be uplifting and ethereal. I also knew a guy who wore an Egyptian Musk oil, don't know which brand but it was similar to mine. It was divine on him.

Answer:
Hierbas de Ibiza ; The lightest touch of cool lavender, combined with sage & citrus along with verbena give a spicy floral note to the fresh herbal citrus. It feels like summer at the beach with fresh flowers in the garden. I just love this one. It might be my new favorite humid weather choice. It is definitely unisex, although on the light side. Good sillage though for this type of scent.
Another I really like is Annick Goutal; 'Camille'. A delicate fresh green floral. Very complex and enchanting, like a walk in a wet garden. The notes are; Honeysuckle, syringia (lilac), privit & ivy. The effect is ephemeral and delicate. Like a white puffy cloud.

Answer:
If you think Lily of the Valley might fit the bill, try Lilia Bella from Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria range. It is not too expensive.
