Cabochard is the older sister of Aramis - Page 2
Question:
I tried Aramis today. Very longlasting, 4 sprays on the back of my hand, 7 hours now, still strong. Olfactorily, Aramis lies between Bandit and Cabochard, leans more to Bandit's side and is less green than Cabochard. The base note is very much like Cabochard though.
Bandit EDP is too harsh for me. Aramis is more wearable, but Cabochard is still my first choice. I smelled Cabochard parfum from that beautiful Baccarat bottle sculpted by Serge Mansau. So that would be the modern version, I presume? I really like the smoky note.
Does Cabochard have any more sisters?

Aramis gussies it up a bit, with some minor spices and mashed potatoes or something, but the core is exactly what Cabochard has in a pure form. Words fail ('specially 'cause I'm trunk) but the heavy spear in Cab. is dead on for an Aramis match.
This is part of the reason that I think Aramis is great in the heat of the summer. It brings out that core craziness.
--Chris ::::shaking fist:::::: curse you Aramis for using mashed potatoes as an ingredient in your fragrance!

Answer:
It's nice to see some positive interest in Aramis. It's a favorite of mine. Usually I see quite a lot of dislike for it here. Cabochard is a new found favorite. I never would have made the connection. Aramis is so much greener. I do see a connection to Azuree though.
I just got the lotion that goes with Cab. and the two together are fantastic. The lotion takes the edge off the dry smoke top note, making it a bit more floral and creamy. Just gorgeous!

Answer:
I heard of the similarity of Aramis and Cabochard, and of them being layered. I wear both in the following manner and really like it:
2 sprays of Aramis on my chest.
5 sprays of Cabochard on my neck.
