I bought Nocturnes de Caron (blind buy) & the aldehydes made it into a single note overpowering & really stinky floral. But, when I use a small spray of Nocturnes & 2 sprays of Kenneth Cole New York (citrus, spices & woods) it changes into a moderate sillage fragrance. It's not brilliant but is wearable & I haven't wasted my money.

Now, that I've read all these posts about layering different fragrances together , I going to try some other scents with my Nocturnes & see if I can improve on the Nocturnes-Kenneth Cole combo!

If anyone has any suggestions on different combos to try...please post them. You could always send it to me! A 'gift' is never wasted money.

In regards to my wardrobe, I'm creating a new perfume collection at the moment. I was getting sick of all the O.K. (average) scents & have used most of them up now, so thought it was the perfect time to start a new & improved one.
I've only got a couple of full sized bottles at present but have a heap of samples, decants & mini's. Plus, I've got about 15 Ava Luxe samples coming & I'm about to purchase Samsara EDP. Do you list your samples, etc. in your wardrobe or just your full sized bottles? Wasn't sure what to do, hence, I haven't got the wardrobe up & running yet.

Success!!! With a Nocturnes + Amber perfume oil combo. Absolutely fantastic!
I ended up diluting some of my Nocturnes with joboba oil & a small amount of polysorbate 20 to help disperse the scent in the oil base. It was just too strong & stinky with my chemistry straight out of the bottle, although it took me ages to work this out. Then layered this with an amber perfume oil (Amber fragrance oil & joboba oil).
It's divine...I love it...can't stop smelling my wrist...I'm in scent heaven!
