Its citrusy, its floral, its woody --> Its Petitgrain !!
Question:
I have been playing with a sample of Truefitt & Hill's West Indian Lime Cologne (a decent if unspectacular citrus) and to my nose, its loaded with petitgrain (after the initial lime burst). This is the first time that I have tried a fragrance with a dominant petitgrain accord, and I would like to explore its interesting citrus-floral yet woody smell further. At times, petitgrain also smells a bit like hay (or is that the citronella acting up in the West Indian Lime composition ?) Any recommendations ? Answer: All of my petitgrain needs are satisfied by Arran Aromatics Love Christmas room spray (worn as perfume) which features petitgrain in all its glory with a dash of mandarin to temper and smooth some of the woody edges. Not your usual festive scent it evokes the mood without being pomander like. I am looking forward to wearing this in the summer heat and think that it would also smell sublime on a man. Answer: moondeva, sounds like an excellent idea! I have never heard of that so I will google it. I used to buy the essential oil but it's a little harsh smelling and lasts about an hour on the skin. L'Occitaine has an orange scent that has loads of petitgrain in it as well. Answer: try fahrenheit 32, the new one from Dior, if youlike petitgrain youŽll be delightful!
