Blind Buy Body Kouros
Question:
I bought Body Kouros 3.3 oz for 40 dollars at the mall blind. I am satisfied but impressed. I was hoping for a louder smell. It might just be my fatigued nose (went sniffing all day and skin testing before i applied Body Kouros on my arm) Any thoughts on Body Kouros? is this a scent you had once tried, thought it was alright, then grew onto you? it kinda seems like the smell that grows on to you. Answer: It grew on me. I initially thought it was too sweet and loud for me, but now I find the eucalypt freshens it a bit, and I don't find it too cloying as some do. The longevity is a big bonus - 16 hours plus. I've smelt it on other people too and it always smells really good. Going cheap at the moment, it's a remarkable bargain and a worthy addition to your wardrobe. I think of it as a poor man's Chergui. For me, it's a toss up which YSL makes my top 10, and on any one day it could be this, M7 or Rive Gauche. Answer: There are times when I find it too cloying myself, and I must take a break. But actually that's only for half an hour to an hour. After that I appreciate it as my only soft, close to the skin scent, that other people will hopefully not even perceive unless they are very close. Mugler Cologne is a bit like that but too girly for my taste. Answer: So, this is a close to the skin scent, right? b/c i can only smell it when i get close to my arm. Answer: When I just bought it it seemed to have quite strong sillage, but now it stays quite close to the skin though. It was one of my favorite scents for a while. I like that it's really got a nice incense/smoke thing going on that balances the sweetness. You can wear it in a lot of situations, though it's really the best for an evening "going out" kind of scent. Good for dates. It goes over well with women, IMO. I haven't worn it in a while, and I forgot about how good it is (sniffing it now). Gotta wear it soon. I wouldn't say it wears all that close to the skin, as some have. It has pretty good strength--you'll see. Plus, another good thing--not that many people know about it/wear it-- so you'll be wearing something unique-- that's the thing with Yves Saint Laurent fragrances-- for some crazy unknown reason, they aren't picked up except by people who are hip to the program. Enjoy! Answer: I had a bottle two or three years ago, and must have liked it, because I went through it really quickly! If I were to repurchase it now, then it's probably one I'd still like, but would tend to use less often. I think it'd be a really good one to wear when going out on dates...
